Diapers with Bang for Buck

I am looking for a diaper that will give me more "bang for my buck." I use White Cloud (walmart brand) quite frequently, in the value pack, i get 124 diapers for about 15$. I also recently bough Huggies Baby shaped fit, they were 228 for 34$ at Sam's Club. My mother-in-law bough Pampers Baby dry to keep at her house when we visit. I am looking for any other recommendations, or what other parent's like. I feel the Huggies are more stretchier and comfortable than the White Cloud ones. although they did seem a little pricey. What about Luvs? does anyone love them or hate them, and how do they compare price wise? Can you get a value pack? My daughter is 4 1/2 months old and is in a size 2.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

well i may have turned into a "diaper snob" but i have stuck with the huggies baby shaped fit, i love the stretchiness, and i keep the pampers baby dry at my mom-in-laws still, i don't know if we will go back to the white cloud, they just didn't seem to hold up as well as the huggies, the huggies do a good job of keeping the wetness away more.

I personally like pampers. They are less bulky, I've never had a leak, and they are economical. Along with having just lowered their prices you can go to their website and sign up for the mailing club. Every month they will send you a whole thing of coupons for diapers and wipes. It's the best way to go in my opinion.

I have a 3 year old and when she was a baby she would leak out of all kinds of diapers, but I found luvs to be the most economical and also held the most.

I just recently stopped working to try and start up a daycare at home, so needless to say money is tight. I have been using luvs for my 13 month old and they are great. You can get coupons worth $3 off in the mail. And at target they are only 9.99 for a jumbo back..Can't beat it..

I was a diaper snob and I only bought pampers swaddlers and once he got bigger the pampers cruisers. When baby #2 came I tried the BJ's brand diapers and I LOVE them. Never had a leak (in almost a year!) they do got saggy when they are soaked but that is the only downfall. BJ's also has a 100% gaurantee for a full refund if you don't like them. Now both boys are in the size 4 BJ's and I love them!
BTW the new pampers baby dry are nice and stretchy and cheaper than the cruisers. LUVS are also made by pampers. Tyco health care makes the pampers and Luvs liners, they also make the BJ's diapers. Arquest makes the Parents choice diapers I've used these a few times and they are really absorbant but no stretch.

Have you considered going cloth? Over the course of your daughter's life, you could save thousands over disposables. And they aren't like your mom's old fashioned cloth dipes, either! Check out www.diaperpin.com to get more info, and there's a calculator that helps you see what your savings could be. I use them almost all the time with my daughter- and her child care provider is even willing to use them! BTW- when I do have to go with disposables, I use Huggies!

HI! L.,
I am also 25 yrs old and have 2 children 9&4. When my son was born I started off with huggies and being a teenage mom they were not affordable even with coupons, so I tried Luvs and sware by them. They are reasonably cheap and are so at walmart I believe in bulk if not there cheap enough to buy 2 packs to make the bulk size. I used Luvs from the day my daughter was born until she could no longer fit in them. I tried papmers because someone had given them to me and hated them especially having a child prone to rashes. I hope this was helpful.

We started on Pampers when my son was born, but we soon switched to Luvs. Yes they do leak from time to time, but mostly because they get over full. My son drinks ALOT of fluids and he can pee through in 2 hours. I don't use them at night though because he pees so much. We use the Huggies night-time diapers. Occasionally the Luvs will leak if he has diahrea, but it's rare. I buy them at BJ's and in the size your daughter is in it's like 228 for $25.00. BJ's also take coupons so we saved lots of money. We also bought our formula there and used the coupons Enfamil sent us. We saved enough in the first year to pay for the membership.

Hi L.-
I was a Pampers and Huggies user when my son was a baby, but as he grew, I too looked for more bang for the buck. I used White Cloud for a long time and was very happy with them-never a leak and nice and stretchy. I had bought a package of Pampers Baby Dry not too long ago and when I put it on him, he said Ooooh, I like it (he's 2 1/2). They are a lot less bulky than the White Cloud. I had bought the big boxes when they were on sale at Walmart. I think $19 for 80 something diapers. I then switched to Luvs and have been using them ever since. I get a big box of 92 diapers for $17 at Walmart. I have no complaints and neither does my son. Since your daughter is so young and not waddling along yet, the White Cloud seem like the best bet. Once she starts crawling and walking, it might be better to switch to a less bulky diaper like Luvs. The only drawback to Luvs is that they don't have a stretchy waistband like the others, but again, my son has never complained about them. I liked the White Cloud, Pampers and Huggies because of the stretchy-ness.

You need to be using Pampers Cruisers. They hold so much and they don’t see baby crack. I got to B.J.’s and get a HUGH box for 30$ and it last my 20mo old son 3 weeks. He is in a bigger size so you get less but I think this kind is the best bang for everyone’s buck. You might be able to get a free sample if you call them 1-800-pampers ###-###-####)

HI, Im T. mother of two girls ages 4and 2. I use parent's choice, walmart. They are only $10.56 a bag and for your size you should be able to get about 80 diapers. I also buy that same brand for wipes, for about $4.+ Good luck..

I buy the WalMart brand Parent's Choice. We get 40 size 3 diapers for $5.74! They don't bother her, so we have stuck with them. I heear they aren't so good for boys, though. They tend to leak.

I love Luvs! I used them for both my kids, and have never had a problem with them! I have also used the CVS brand, which is $9 for like 34 in size 4. I don't really like Pampers or Huggies, but I have to use the pullups for my daughter. I wish Luvs made the pullups, could I would use those too.

I have a 7 year old, 4 year old and a 7 month old. Truly like the commercial, I have lived with Pampers and Huggies thinking oh Pampers are soft, Huggies are stretchy, and depending on my childs needs at the time switched between the two. However, about 4 months into each childs life I have found myself looking to save money and turned to Luvs. I also swear by them. They have a leak guarantee, and I have never had to send them in. I even forgot to change my daughter once (thought my husband did it) and 5 1/2 hours later realized how long she had been, but not a rash in sight and no complaints from her! Luvs are the best......and although no coupons/sales like the others, they are still cheaper.
I buy mine at BJs Wholesale in a case.

I have twin girls, and when they were little, I tried all different kinds, we started with pamped because they needed preemie sizes, and at about sz 2 stage tthey were just too expensive, next we used the "Berkely and Johnson" Brand from BJ's which were good. Ultimately though, I turned to Luvs.... They were great!!!The quality was comperable to Pampers with a much lower price(I believe they're actually made by the same company).... it's hard to find them in sizes smaller than three, but I found out after searching for a friend, that Target carries them in ALL sizes. I would reccommend them to anyone!!!!

I've usually loved Huggies except recently my 5 mo son has been leaking out the side at night. I love the stretchiness of Huggies. I hate putting my babies in a diaper that doesn't give any on their tummy. The more expensive Pampers are nice too but my god they cost too much. I know I didn't like Luvs when I tried them with my daughter but maybe I'll give them a try again. Alot of people on here seem to like them. Also...I did try the walmart brand (parents choice) when my daughter was about 2. We didn't have any problem with them either.

Another vote for Target brand. We've been using them for AGES, and they're definitely the cheapest thing going. We buy the big boxes (of about 100 diapers) for about $13. I like them better than Luvs because they have a little bit of stretch in the waist (if your kid's likely to blow-out in the back, Luvs won't stop it!).

For night-time, though, nothing but Huggies Overnights will do. ;^)
