Diapers While Breastfeeding

When should the dirty diapers begin to be more solid looking while breastfeeding? My almost 2 month old is exclusively breastfed and has had yellow watery/slimy looking dirty diapers for the past couple months now. Do breastfed babies always have the watery dirty diapers or should I be concerned?

What can I do next?

Very normal. That's exactly how my son's were. Enjoy the sweet smelling poo now. Just like the other mommies have said--once solids are introduced or if you have to switch to formula--watch out!!! Pewie!!!!! ;)

Totally normal while your baby is exclusively breastfed. Don't be suprised if the dirty diapers become few and far between though; that just means that your baby is using most of what he/she is getting from you - as long as there are no signs of constipation (discomfort, hard tummy). Once you introduce solids or formula (if you are), the dirty diapers will become more 'normal', like an adults.

The poops will remain that way until your baby starts solids.

Yes, totally normal.Until you introduce anything other than breastmilk they will continue to look just like that. It means you're doing a good job feeding your baby :)

As others have said, completely normal. I know I was concerned that I wouldn't know what diarrhea would look like since the stools were already watery, but my 10-month old (by this time he already has formed stools) just had a bout of it and the diaper actually absorbs a lot of the wateriness like urine, so diarrhea does actually look different. Best of luck to you and your new baby!

enjoy this time, because let me tell you when they start solids the smell starts. It is so much nicer when it's just breastmilk! LOL!

Totally normal for breast fed babies. Once you start adding baby food to his diet when get gets older it will change color, smell worse and thicken.
