Frequent changing, switch to frangrance free wipes, and use vasaline, not destitin. The fragrance in diaper cream can make the rash worse. Also, keep the diaper off for as long as you dare.
If you breastfeed look at what you have been eating recently. My baby had a rash when I ate too much chocolate at Halloween :(

Daily baths and Auquophor healing ointment. If it doesn't clear up in 2 days, call your dr. you may need a prescription or it may be a yeast infection.

Try Desitin Creamy. It worked great on my daughter. Or anything with a lot of zinc. That's what cures it.

Hi K.,
My son had severe diaper rash due to a gastro-viral infection and we used Triple Paste and aquaphor. We let him air out as much as possible and we changed him often. I even had daycare change him every hour. It so painful for the poor babies. I hated changing his diaper and wiping him. It broke my heart.

Use Boudex butt balm and warm aveeno baths

If it is diaper rash, try getting Vitamin E capsules and pricking them with a needle or pin and squeeze it onto the rash. If it is a bad rash, I usually use 4-5 capsules at a time to cover it well. It works wonders!

The biggest things are to keep the area clean and dry. Therefore, during diaper changes try to leave the diaper off and let the area get some air. My daughter just had a terrible diaper rash and I would put a pad underneath her and let her play for 5 -10 minutes during her diaper changes with her diaper off. Also, try to change the diaper frequently - I even changed hers in the middle of the night. As for cream, I recommend something with zinc oxide in it.

we had a very bad diaper rash last year and the dr. told us to use aveeno oatmeal baths, and let the bottom air out as much as possible.
My friend suggested using Gold bond baby powder, I found it at wal-mart in with the baby powders. It's yellow with a red top and is cornstarch. We used a combo of that and cloth diapers with a disposable diaper put on lightly over the cloth. It was a mess but cleared up in a few days.
