my daughter just grew out of size 2 diapers and is in size 3.. she (thankfully) is still sleeping completely through the night. There are some night where she will wake up once for a bottle but thats realy it.. she pretty regularly sleep all night til around 5am and then has a bottle and falls back to sleep for an hour or two. My problem is that since she doesnt wake up at all during the night shes in the same diaper all night. The pampers baby dry overnights used to work wonders, but now, im guessing because shes bigger now, everymorning she wakes up soaked. I just recently tried the babies r us brand diapers (i stil have diapers left from my baby shower so they are all different kinds) i thought for sure they would be great because they are kind of a different material, but no.. well they helped.. shes not in a giant puddle in the morning, now just a small one. but still waking up wet.. i feel like i shouldnt be waking her up at night just to change her. Then she'll be awake and wanting a bottle. Any suggestions on diapers for a baby who sleeps all night and the diapers wont leak by morning??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

thanks everyone.. i actually have a pack of size 3 pampers cruisers i guess ill be trying those next.. and im glad i was right about not waking her to change her, if shes not waking up herself because shes soaked its obviously not bothering her that much, i just hate to have her layy there in a wet diaper.. ive also heard alot of good thigns about the kirkland i think they are, the costco brand, but i wasnt sure because you have to buy a huuuge box of them and if they dont work, thats a whole lot of diapers i bought for no reason. if the pampers cruisers dont work ill try the huggies.. if not ill have to go get some liners to put in there... as far as feeding her goes , she has some cereal and a little bit of veggies for dinner with a 4 oz bottle and then before bed only has a 4oz bottle.. i was giving her 6 but now that shes eating actual baby food she doesnt ever finish it so we cut down to 4... and shes still peeing like a racehorse lol

I agree, I never liked Pampers and when I want something that won't leak, it's Huggies. Funny thing I've found was that Pampers is the more expensive brand. /).-

I had more luck with Huggies overnight diapers than any other brand.

When this happened with my son, we double-diapered him and it stopped the leaks. Try putting a size 4 over the size 3 at night. Definitely don't start waking her, because you don't want to mess with the sleep pattern she has set for herself. Good luck!

Never restrict liquid as a measure to assure less leakage...but I'm sure you know that! Even with older children who are potty training, while that MAY seem like a solution, it's really not...and not healthy.

That being said, I am still using Up and Up diapers on my 2.5 year old and she never leaks. I let her have as much to drink as she wants and while that diaper might be heavy in the morning, I haven't ever had one leak. That's Target's generic brand, and very cheap. I used to use Luvs, but I found I liked Up and Up better.

A size 4 diaper might solve the problem. It has helped many people I know. Or you could get a pair of wool pants which will prevent leaks and keep her dry. I use wool as a cloth diaper cover. It is wonderful and can be used a couple weeks between washing without stinking.

Try to have liquids 2 hours before bedtime, then change her right before jammies. Then don't give any more than 6 oz for last feeding before bed (which I'm assuming at 5 months you still do). Usually this helps cut down on leaking out. I've always like the Pampers babydry best (huggies has latex in the bands) but everyone is different.
If she's still peeing thru, there are some great suggestions below.
Also put a pee pad or absorbent mattress liner beneath sheet so if she does the water is wicked away.
I agree, I wouldn't wake her up because it obviously isn't bothering her enough to wake up. IF she wakes on her own (around 5am) then I would change her before feeding her more.
Good Luck!

ETA: Mrslavallie...Cutting back on milk...ESPECIALLY before bed will not harm anything. They should be getting their calories during the day, not right before bed. Obviously if the child is thirsty/dehydrated you would give them some...but it IS perfectly HEALTHY to cut back before bed.

I tried all the different overnight diaper brands and nothing was ever better than a regular Pampers Cruiser diaper. I had DAILY leaking issues with Huggies Overnights. I ran out of them one day and used regular Pamper Cruiser diaper at night, and no leaks! Never went back to the nighttime diapers after that. Go up a size for nighttime if you can. As soon as my son starts leaking a bit at night, thats when I know its time to buy the next size. They usually fit fine even if you are outside the weight range printed on the package!

try an insert in her diaper. its like a pad that goes in her diaper to help with the heavy output. or you can try the huggies over night diapers. some kids just have more urine out put then others. my daughter went through a time where she peed through every night diaper and then stopped leaking in them.

I found that Huggies overnights worked much better than Pampers overnights, even though my son was a Pamper wearer during the day (Cruisers). Try the Huggies overnights. If she's a small size three, that size is probably ok. Buy a small pack to start so you're not wasting too many if you end up needing a four.

There is also a product called Diaper Doublers that is basically like a maxipad you stick in the diaper. I've only heard about them - never seen them - but people say they work well.

Huggies.
I really don't like Pampers.
Huggies Overnight diapers.

AND get a few waterproof bed pads, to put under her.
I got all of mine from Amazon.
Easy. Sheets don't get soiled.
BUT when my kids were older and in night diapers, I DID change them once during the night.
Because they are bigger/older, have more pee output, and no diaper will stay dry ALL night.
But the Huggies night time diapers, are GREAT. They even come in size 6. Which, is good because night time dryness, does not occur even until 7 years old, and this is normal.

When I changed my kids at night, it did NOT wake them. I did it in the dark, if anything with only a small dim flashlight. My kids did not wake.
