Diaper Brands

Hi,
I was price shopping for diapers and noticed how much cheaper Luvs diapers and the store brand diapers at BJ's wholesale are. Has anyone used these? How are they? Do they leak?

What can I do next?

With my first child, I used only pampers, until I became pregnant with my 2nd child! Then I tried Luvs- they leaked for my son, but my nieces and nephews used them without problems. I finally settled on BJ's brand and only used those for my son's remaining diaper time and throughout for my daughter. We liked them a lot and they offer a lot of coupons on them. My son has ridiculously sensitive skin and he never had a rash with them! Good luck.

I don't know about those but I love the White Cloud brand from Walmart...so cheap and really good! I like them better than Pampers.

With my first son, I only used Pampers (what a snob I was!) With my second son, I was more money conscious and used Luvs as well as the Target brand diapers. Both worked just fine. I never had a BJs membership, so I can't speak about them.

My advice is to try them and see what works best (leaking, etc.)

I don't know about Bj's store brand but Costco's worked pretty good for my nephew. Luv's leaked when I tried them. Pampers fit my kid best and worked the best. You can also sign up for coupons on their website. Babies are us has cheap prices on Diapers too. The only problem is you see all the other stuff in there and end up spending more than you would if you bought the diapers somewhere else. LOL

I tried them for my daughter, and my sister-in -law tried them for my niece and both leaked terribly. However, my sister -in -law is currently using them for my nephew and they are working out fine. In general I think they are good for boys, not so good for girls.

Hi R., I have 3 kids my youngest is 15 mos and I would most definitely use the store brand. They are much cheaper and I find they work just as well. My favorites is the Wal-mart brand of Parents choice. They are the cheapest out there and work good.

We used Pampers with my first and Huggies with my twins, and found no difference between the two. I would say, go for the cheaper diapers. We did find a real difference between the huggies wipes and the cheaper ones. I wouldn't scrimp there!

I use Pampers. I tried Luvs several times but continued to get leaks, every morning my son was soaked. When I took the diapers off him and tried to wrap it up to throw away, it acted like a wet sponge and sent pee everywhere. Yuck. I do not recommend them. I used cloth diapers until my son was a year old, and supplemented with Seventh Generation. But if you are trying to save money, getting Pampers at BJs is the best way to get a quality diaper and save. They send out coupons, so I never go in without at least a $5 off coupon for the BJs Pampers. Good Luck!

Hi R.,

My three children each grew up in Luvs. I tried them all and found that Luvs worked as well as any other brand but cost much less. The store brands worked at certain stages but inevitably leaked as the child grew. Good luck!

They work great for my daughter--she has leaked through the more expensive brands (huggies & pampers), but she never has leaked through luvs.
