Hey! I was wondering if anyone has a good durable diaper bag that they would reccomend?
I have gone through about 5 in the last year and a half. They start unraveling, rip or the zippers break. I dont think I put too much stuff in them. I dont want to keep buying new bags every 3 months so if you have any recommendations I would appreciate them! Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I have a Petunia Picklebottom boxy packback. It is expensive but I have used it every day since my 2 1/2 yo was born and with the addition of a new baby now stuff it with stuff for two kids daily. You can look at them at www.petuniapicklebottom.com, at Nordstrom, or on eBay. I particularly like the functionality of the boxy backpack.

I actually buy school bags. Not backpacks, but the bags that look like duffel bags. They are stronger because they are meant to hold books. It has worked for me so far.

I bought the Eddie Baugher one also, but honestly didn't use it much. It stayed in the car and I just carried a diaper in my purse "just in case." I wouldn't recomend spending alot of money for one! Even just a beach bag with your essentials to leave in the trunk is enough. My suggestion.

I fianlly broke down and bought a pricey one at Baby R Us. It has survived the first boy and the second one (3 & 2). It has been to several vacations and holds eveything for all three kids, snacks, cups clean clothes, diapers, ect with out feeling or looking bulky. It survived the early years of boy #1 and boy #2 only, now the bag onlu gets used for long day trips or vacations. My purse (also too pricet - a Fossil) works great for all my stuff and when I have the kids afterwork I can fit 2-3 diapers, wipes and a handfull of snaks in it too. It has lasted almost 1 year and still is in great shape.

I was sooo frustrated with the number of diaper bags we went through in one year(7)! Then we went on a trip and I borrowed a small makeup suitcase from my mother-in-law. It was so much sturdier. I just kept it when I returned the other suitcases! I don't have any idea what a small travel toiletry suitcase costs but I've had hers for about six months now with no signs of wearing. So even if its fifty bucks, I think you'd come out ahead.

I used the one from Eddie Bauer. It was a gift so I don't know the price, but they got it from Babies R US. I love it, it's sturdy and comfy. I have outgrown using a diaper bag for my son, but I use it as my travel bag and pack all my personal and hair care essentials, including my blow dryer and it can handle it.

Best wishes,
C.~

I broke down and bought a Fleurville Sling tote, and even though it's got a 125$ price tag, I am still using it and it will probably last through my entire next baby. The thing is REALLY durable, Easy to clean and best of all, it's stylish, and doubles as your purse!

I just got a new one at target. It's great, not to big, but enough space and pockets to hold your stuff and your babies. I have 3 kids who need cups, plus diapers, formula, etc for the little one ad change of clothes for my boy whose just finished potty training. There's still pockets for my keys, wallet, calendar and it's not real bulky. It's Spark by Skip Hop, here's a link to check it out. http://www.target.com/Spark-Skip-Hop-Diaper-Bag/dp/B000PT...
It's $29.99 which admittedly is more than I usually spend, but this one is worth it and it's really not that expensive when you look through them all. The bag comes in black too, but I liked the bright red.

Hey M., we have a Columbia Sportswear bag (black & khaki) and it has been overstuffed numerous times and is great for travel! It looks like a duffle bag and has many compartments in the front and on the sides. Style# 1-16284-92-75. We got it at Babies R Us a little over a year ago and we just love it!

I had a Brighton denim/leather one that I got for my baby shower, but it was so heavy. So, I bought one off etsy.com for $8 and I have used it for seven months now. :)

I have 2 in diapers and I am in the same situation. I just bought a Jansport backpack to use as a diaper bag. They are actually on clearance right now at Target for about $6.00. You can't beat that price. They are pretty sturdy and last way longer than diaper bags.

hey M.:

now that your little one is over a year old, you don;t have to pack all the bottle supplies (yeah) but snack & juices can be equally as heavy... i like ot use a sturdy back pack from good ol' REI. it's easy to carry when i need both arms for handling my two year old, stroller & car or trax doors... it's also totally durable. for more dressy occations, i use a fancier diaper bag-- you can get a good selection from 'secret garden' in trolley square or 'shapiro' in most malls. i loved using my "baby innovations" diaper bag until we outgrew it (because of it's size... at about 18 months, coincidentally)... but now they make a terrific follow-up version called a mini-- i'm sure you can get that @ 'babysrus'.
good luck!
