Diaper Bag Recommendations? Pack-rat Seeking "THE" Perfect Bag!
OK ladies, first time mom here and I need some help finding something to use as a diaper bag. I have not liked the diaper bag I originally picked (Fleurville, mid-size tote) and I just messed up another handbag I was using as a diaper bag because I had just tossed a bottle w/ cap in the bottom of the bag, but it leaked...a lot! So, I'm looking for something that is large (because I'm one of those "prepared for any case scenario" people who most often leaves the house with everything but the kitchen sink). But I also want this perfect bag to have good pockets to hold bottles (learned that one the hard way, now that all my personal items are soggy and/or sticky). I want it big enough for at least a half-day outing, preferably somewhat trendy, stays put on your shoulder well, and not heavy.

I have the Fleurville Lexi tote and it's awesome. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the Babymel London bags and anything by OiOi. I can say I've had lots of experience with diaper bags because I sell them, but I review just about everything. Babymel is from the makers of StorkSak, but not as expensive. The Amanda bag has zippers on the sides of the bags that you don't see easily, and that way you can keep bottles and other potentially leaking items in them and they can't get into the rest of the bag. OiOi has a large giraffe print tote that comes with just about everything in it and holds a LOT. It doesn't even look like a diaper bag!

I had a Vera Bradley and liked it plus you can wash them. Have you looked at Kate Spade her diaper bag is awesome. My two are a little older now so I just bought the purse Clinton Street. It a has plenty of room for me, but the diaper bag is bigger so it would probably work better for you. I think it is called the Clinton Street Henry you can find it on her website.

I had a very stylish Vera Bradley diaper bag....matched the stroller, chocolate brown, cute, yada yada yada. It was not great at all. I was a high-fashion mama always getting compliments on my bag, but it was not holding up well after less then 6 months of use. It did not have enough pockets and things would just get lost. Also, the changing mat did not have a seperate compartment and you had to cram it down in there with everything else which is not super sanitary because you are lying it on surfaces that are questionable in the first place. Well, anyway..... a month ago I bought a Hop Skip diaper bag in camo print and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! So easy to stay organized. A compartment for EVERYTHING (even the changing mat)! My husband will carry it wihtout complaining. It has a strap to put it on your stroller. I take lots of stuff too and I can fit bottles and sippy cups, baby food jars, little containers of snacks, toys, books, extra bib, burp rag and outfit, medication, etc. all with plenty of room! It even has a "parent pocket" for wallet, cell phone, keys, etc. It is just wonderful. And over $70 less than the other one!

I love, Love Love my Fleurville bag. I got it on ebay, it was a discontinued print (though i love it, and get tons of complements). I purchased it after my son's bottle leaked and ruined the inside of my petunia pickle bottom. The fleurville is like plastic! I, too, carry everything in my diaper bag, including the kitchen sink!! I love it!! I still use it daily, and my son is now two!
Good luck!
