I am desperately seeking a purse/diaper bag. I want something that is kind of a cross between because I am out of the baby stage but still carry diapers, snacks, sippy cups, etc. I want it to be roomy with several pockets. Anyone have any good recommendations or favorites??
Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I ended up getting the Damask print diaper bag from amazon! I would have liked more pockets on the inside, but this bag is very roomy, cute, and priced right!! Thanks bthree! They have a lot of cute bags on her website dbagshop.com. Thanks again everyone!

I used a backpack, very roomy for all I needed to carry. Actually, with my last baby, that is all I used, from birth.

I had several bags, but this one was by far my favorite. I bought a coordinating wallet and purse, so when I didn't want to carry my purse and the diaper bag, I could just toss my wallet into the diaper bag.
Mine was brown and blue and it looked nice, even after several months of heavy use. It was also washable.

I agree with Denise. I used many different Vera bags during that stage (everything from the backpack to the tote that zips shut). I love my Veras, and they have plenty that have tons of pockets and hold lots of goodies!

I just bought one the other day on Zulily's website by Amy Kathryn. They are really cute and look like a purse but can have the function of a diaper bag. Most of the bags were around $100 and over but on Zulily I got mine for $39.99! I thought that was a good deal. I can't wait to get it and try it out! I purchased a messenger type bag but there are other styles.

I just bought a regular backpack, and I love it. I paid less than for a diaper bag, I can fit my own purse INSIDE it, and it has plenty of room for stuff for both my kids. Good luck!

I have one from Timi and Leslie. Got it on Amazon. It's funky and huge. :)
Go out to Amazon and just search for diaper bags. There are a TON of options out there that are stylish that you'll never find in any of the standard baby stores or maternity shops.

Have you heard of Thirty One Gifts? They have some great bags! A lot of the mommas in my areas use the Cindy Tote for a diaper bag. It's so universal! Check out my consultant's website: http://www.mythirtyone.com/Laurie31gifts

There is a new catalog coming out in February! I'm addicted to these bags!

Best wishes!

I have been using a bag from Overland Equipment - the "Donner". It has water bottle (sippy cup!) holders on the sides and I can get a couple of diapers, a small thing of wipes and my basics (cell phone, wallet, etc.) in it. I have even added our big camera on occassion. I wish it were a little bigger but I can definitely get the essentials in it. Can be worn on the shoulder or cross-body. Still haven't found the perfect bag but this is pretty good. In just looking at their website, the newer bags look a little nicer than mine. Mine was ordered online from either ebags or tahoe mountain sports - it was a gift - cheaper there than from company website but colors may be limited. Also try looking at some sporting stores - camping, hiking, etc. for "day packs", possibly in luggage categories might help.

Good Luck!

Absolutely - VERA BRADLEY.

I never carried a diaper bag AND a purse. I always wanted the bag I carried to serve both purposes, and the Vera's are WONDERFUL for that!

I have several different styles of Vera's, but my absolute favorite for the baby years is the *Vera.* It's kind of like a tote bag, but it has 6 tall slip in pockets on the inside, that fit bottles/sippee cups perfectly, pockets on the outside, etc. that allow you to stay very organized, and it's very roomy. You can easily pack a change of clothes, diapers, toys, etc. They are quilted fabric, so they are light to carry, which is a definite plus with all the stuff we tote around, and they come in many colors/fabrics.

If you don't want something quite that large, the Villager is almost the exact same bag, but a sized down version. It also has the 6 slip in pockets that fit bottles/sippee's, etc.

Vera Bradley also has an actual baby bag, that comes with a changing pad, etc., but I never liked it as much as the Vera. But that was just my personal preference.

The other thing I really loved about using VB's as a diaper bag/purse, is that they have all the matching accessories, so you could get a matching wallet, etc. and that really makes it more like a purse, instead of just a diaper bag. And they are machine washable and hold up wonderfully!

They aren't exactly *cheap* but they are worth every penny. And if you go to the online store, they always have pretty good sales on the older prints...

My son is almost 5, and I still carry the Villager so I can take a juice for him, his epipen, wet one's wipes, DS, etc... still carrying all kinds of junk with us! (Plus I'm just addicted to VB's! ;)
