Has anyone been to Destin, Florida lately? If so, please give me some great ideas for me and my family to do while there. We have a 2 year old, so I need ideas for kid friendly restaurants and activities. Thanks!

We just took our two year old during the first week of June and had so much fun. Our condo had a kiddie pool and big pool and was right on the beach (Silver Shells), so we would take the kids the pool in the mornings, go back for lunch and a nap for the kids and then spend the afternoon at the beach.

We also went to Fudpuckers, The Crab Trap, The Back Porch and Mellow Mushroom pizza with the kids. Anyplace we went to eat, we tried to get seats by the beach, so the kids could look out at the boats and water. The Back Porch had a great little playground set on the beach for the kids to play on while we waited.

There is also a great little shopping area closer to Sandestin (The Commons) that has a splash park in the middle of it with hot dogs and ice cream that we did one day.

We also did a Dolphin cruise, but I don't think the kids were that impressed (all 2 and under) and I thought it was pretty boring. We only saw 2 dolphins and it was a long time to be trapped on a boat with little ones.

We go yearly and stay at the Hilton Resort at SanDestin. We love it. The resort is in a gated area. There's access to biking, mini golf and the spa is fantastic.

We also head to the Wharf area where there are lots of restaurants, music and things to do.

One restaurant the teens like but lots of families go to is Fudpuckers. They have live alligators and feedings.

Enjoy!!

My son and I went the first weekend in May. Its beautiful there. One restaurant my son loved was Fudpuckers cause you can feed the alligators and take pics with them. Have fun!

Fuddpuckers is a great kid-friendly place. There is also a go-cart place that has a wooden track that goes up like a roller coaster (he might be too young to enjoy that)and other smaller rides. They have a Dolphin tour on the "SeaBlaster" that is soooo much fun. They let the kids "drive" the boat and its wonderful to see the dolphins swimming by the boat. The beach is always great, too! I went last year and absolutely loved it. My family has so much fun and the best memories from our trip. I hope you have a great trip.

Go to fuddpuckers.it is a great kid friendly resturant. There is a gift shop and a place where you can go and see all the alligators and even feed them.Lots of great photos opts too. Also the gulfarium was really fun they do all kinds of shows they have dophins seals alligators otters sharks and much more. They will have shows with dancing seals and dophins jumping through hoops. There is also a big outlet mall.It is sipposed to have really good prices but they dont really but still a great place to get some good shopping in.If you have the option to get a waterfront room pay the extra and get it.We did and woke up with such a great view every morning we never wanted to leave. We stayed at inn on destin harbor it is a small little hotel very prvate. From our room we watched segulls fly saw many beautiful boats come in to harborand the most magical we could see dophins playing right under us!!We actually saw a mommy and two baby dophins. The lobby has comphy cars and couches and a fire place and is just an open glass front to the water.Every omorning you can eat breakfast in front of a fire place while watching the waves roll in.It looks kind of simple from the outside but if you get a waterfront room you will never reget it because it is so close to the water. Also each water fron room has there own private balcony so you can sand out on the balcony and look at the water.Good luck and I hope you have a blast.

Two things we did last year that our kids enjoyed was to go to the aquarium and we rented a jet ski and put our 2 year old on with us and he had a blast. We had dolphins swimming right along side of us. It is so great there.
