Denton/Lewisville Area Affordable Pre-school?
Hi guys! I got such awesome advice last time I posted, I thought I would post again. :) I'm in a bit of a quandry. I'm trying to find a full time preschool that won't break the bank for my four (excuse me, almost *five*) year old son. Does anyone have any suggestions for the Denton/Corinth/Lewisville area? Thanks bunches! :)

S.,
I have looked for preschools for my son for almost 2 years. Since I am in the education field myself it was very important to me to find a school that really understood all the needs of preschool age children. Montessori Episcopal School has a great balance and understanding of the social and academic needs of preschool age children. They have a web site at http://www.montessoriepiscopal.com/ . Their class rates vary a little by age but for a M-F 8:15-2:30 for $440/mo. They also offer before and after school care for very low rates. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Give them a call or visit the web site and I think you will agree that their understanding of preschool age children's needs is a near perfect balance.

I am sure you are just about at your breaking point! I am an inhome child care provider in Corinth (right off of 35) and will be providing a fully certified preschool program. I will be doing this everyday for the kiddos that I will keep full time, but am also opening it up for preschool only type hours. I have reasonable rates, and am willing to be as flexible as I can. I am also pretty fluent in ASL and intend to add that into the curriculum. If you are interested, feel free to call or email. Good luck with the impending changes!! ____@____.com

S., I'm SOOOOO with you on that one. I've spent the last several days researching ALL of my options in the Lewisville, Flower Mound, Coppell area. (I'm in Flower Mound.) My daughter is at Cornerstone Learning Center (Flower Mound Rd. near 2499) and I'm paying $133/week for 3-days! I really need to go fulltime as I'm not getting enough work done/nor making enough money (I work for myself and I'm single now.) F/T for her 2.5 years-old is $185/week. OUCH! I love the school but I can't afford that. I found a few other options I'm considering. If you want to write me at ____@____.com I'd be happy to share my Excel spreadsheet with everything listed side-by-side! The ages may be differnt/cost, etc. But you'll get an idea of where they are compared to others and the phone numbers.
I think I'm going to take her to either Legacy Learning Center ($150/wk fulltime or Kids Kingdom for $130/wk fulltime.)
Good luck!

Please do check out the state website as someone already mentioned. You cna find any violations found on any liscensed provider. Many have minor violations regarding paperwork, etc. Kid's Kingdom (as someone mentioned)has a violation of leaving a child in the car! Yikes!
I am editing to add that St Philips in Lewisville has a MDO program. You can do 5 days a week from 9-2. I don't know if that is full time enough for you, but it is afforable-$350/mo for parishioners and $400 for non-parishioners. you can e-mail me at ____@____.com

Hello S.!
I don't know if that helps but my friend has her two year old at "Kids Count Too" in The Colony. It might be too far for you.
She pays 125 a week, what is pretty cheap, and she loves it! They also have cameras what is a very nice feature these days.
Their number is:

Good luck to you!

The only ones I can think of that offer full-time are Selwyn School, Primrose in Corinth (Swisher and Garrison I believe) and Corinth Montessori. We loved Corinth Montessori, so it was worth the price. In my search for quality childcare, I found that most of what Denton County has to offer leaves much to be desired :-(. Thus, I eventually quit my job!
I do not recommend Children's Lighthouse based on the number and nature of violation reports on the TX Department of Family Services website.

We just got done looking at lots of daycares in Denton for our son. Our favorite one was also the least expensive (of the good ones)-about 450 a month (for baby). It is Children's Corner at Singing Oaks Church on McKinney St. There is usually a waiting list, but you might get lucky.
