Hi Mamas,

I'm so hoping that you all can help. Both my husband and I do not have Dental Insurance and because my husband is disabled and can no longer work finances are tight especially with 2 children.

My kids have a dentist and a good one at that through Kids Care/ACCHS. However my husband and I have both within the last few months ended up with an infected tooth! We are both in desperate need of Dental Care but do not have Insurance to cover it. Back in November I had part of a filling literally fall out while taking a bite of a cookie! I seen a dentist to see what exactly had happened and what could be done. It was depressing to hear my options not to mention the cost. So needless to say nothing has been done and NOW I am in excrutiating pain that Tylenol Extra Strength barely helps.

Can anyone recommend a decent Dentist out there that has a heart to take cash payments? Also, hopefully somebody that is not in Phoenix but hopefully not farther than a 30 min. drive from San Tan Valley which is where we live. More like Gilbert or Chandler? I hope somebody out there knows of a Dentist with a heart that is in it for helping people and not the money he makes off of us all.

Thanks for your help and recommendations!
A.

Many people don't have dental insurance and many dentists will accept payments over time! Call around and ask! You don't need to be in pain.

Is there a university with a dental school near you? They normally have low-rates/sliding scale dental care.

AT Still University has a dental school at baseline and power road in Mesa. Call them to find out what they charge. Good Luck.

There is a wonderful dentist in Tempe. My husband, children and I all see him. We've been there for 8 years and have never had dental insurance since we've been with his office. He and his staff are very helpful! Office # is ###-###-#### Dr. Lawrenz.

I agree with Denise, try to find a dental school near you.

Also, as a temporary solution, you can buy 'filler' at your local pharmacy. THIS IS TEMPORARY! It's so dangerous to try to fix something like this long term by yourself because of the amount of bacteria in our mouths... but it will definately help you until you can find a dentist.

We stumbled upon the temp filler when we were in CT for a wedding... fiance bit into a sandwish with bacon, and lost a filling; broke his tooth. It worked until we could get back to VA. You could also try putting orajel on there.

Feel better and good luck!

there's usually a dental center in every town or nearby town. Western dental accepts payments.
dental costs are through the rough and the insurance for most dental plans isnt all that great either :(

I'm sorry that I don't have any advice, but call around to some local practices and ask! Most doctors/dentists/hospitals, etc will setup payment arrangements...especially in this economy. Just explain your situation and I'm sure they would be more than willing to set something up.
