My daughter is 18 months and her "ped" had mention that it is time for her to see a dentist. Does anyone know of a good dentist? We live on the Northeast side of San Antonio, TX. Thanks.

My five children all see/will see Dr. Susie Hayden at Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry (my youngest is 21 months, and they usually see kids for the first time about age 2). Dr. Susie is fabulous, involved, caring and fun for the kids. She practices with two other women, Dr. Courtney Alexander and Dr. Lisvette Rivera-Malave, both very nice and helpful. Dr. Susie's office is located at 20322 Huebner Rd., just past the Stone Oak Parkway intersection. You can check out the practice for yourself at www.sopdtx.com. I have never been more pleased with any pediatric dentist.

As an aside, my experience with Dr. Wiegand was not a good one. We started with him for orthodontics for my oldest, and when we had to move out of state briefly a couple of years ago, his office would not forward records or even respond to requests from his new orthodontist. I can only surmise he would not assist a former, now non-paying patient. Just a heads-up for your consideration, but Dr. Wiegand also was recommended to me, and that was our experience.

Our family LOVES Dr. Doose.

I took my children to him on a recommendation of about five of my friends after my current pediatric dentist told my child he would be getting crowns on his teeth AFTER I had told her he wasn't. And she told him this without me present. My child came to me in tears. I was livid.

Dr. Doose welcomes the parents back with their children. I have been present while he filled a cavity and literally watched my son giggle throughout the procedure when Dr. Doose would bring out the "motorcycle toothbrush" (aka the drill). He and his staff are a delight. I highly recommend him.

My girls just had there 2nd check up at Ivy Lane dentistry and we LOVE them. My 3 yr old was so excited to see mr. thirsty. They have cute names for there tools and let the kids use them if they want to, and a tv to watch. Everyone is very nice and accomodating. They also let your kiddos pick out a pair of sunglasses to wear during the exam. They just built a new office and it is gorgous. I highly recomend them. They love to put a star on there picture on the wall for each visit too.

I recommend Dr. James Doose at Pediatric Dentistry. The address is 2235 Thousand Oaks Dr. Suite 122 and the phone number is ###-###-####. He is awesome with children. The staff is friendly and efficient. A very pleasant experience for all of us.

Hi R.,

I recommend Dr. Paul Wiegand on San Pedro (and Winding Way). He is a dual specialist (a ped dentist and orthodontist. I was a dental hygienist prior to being a stay at home mom and he is very knowledgeable and has a great staff>
