For baseboards and that grout that the mop never reaches, I use baking soda and water with a toothbrush. For dirty walls, you can't go wrong with vinegar water and a damp cloth.

I'm with Tracy K on the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. I don't know what's in those things but they clean EVERYTHING!
Do one room at a time, in order from top-to-bottom--that's how I usually do it.

Vinegar or lemon juice with baking powder (for the organic)...wonderful cleaning ability!! Nice lemony smell!
I use bleach on my bath mats/runners - that's it. don't like using it on floors or anywhere else.
I stay away from ammonia as well. I used it when the kids were small in the bathtub and soaked their bath toys in it. kept the mold from growing inside them.
I love the swiffer extended arm duster - I can get the cob webs in the corners as well as the dust at the top of ceiling fans.

It depends on the surfaces. For my tile I scrub twice a year on my hands and knees. My knees don't like that much.
I don't have carpet anymore, in part allergies, in part I just don't feel like it is ever clean.
My laminate I steam mop.

Baking Soda. I found it worked better than the expensive super degreaser to get the gunk off around my stove.
