Decorating Onsies for a Baby Shower, Need Advice!

I am throwing a baby shower for a close friend, and she would like all the guests at the bridal shower to decorate onsies for her little guy. What kind of paint/stencils/iron-ons should I look into. Has anyone ever done this before, any suggestions on do's or don'ts. I am not an artsy or creative person so PLEASE any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you all! I am very excited to try this out, I think I will use a combination of onesies and bibs. Should be a lot of fun! Thank you again!

Anything that is meant for clothing is good but don't forget about using other cute fabrics to decorate a onsie to look like a dress for instance

Careful with any applique that baby could choke on. About three years ago, a friend of mine was having a baby and her mother in law glued crystals all over a pacifier giving it a bling effect. The MIL was so proud of it at the shower and everyone passed it around saying, "you can't give this to the baby" under their breath. I would stick with some type of stitching that would not come of and does not require any gluing.

This is a fun idea. We did this at my cousin's baby shower. We used fabric markers. I liked this because you didn't have to worry about dry time or paint getting on the ladies clothes, water spilling, etc. Clean up was very easy. You can find them at Micheals or JoAnn's. Cut small pieces of cardboard to put between the fabric. My aunt put up a clothes line and all of the onesies were hung for display. My cousin chose the top 3 and those women received a prize. Get various sizes so your friend will be able to use them a long time. I've also heard that moms take a picture of the baby wearing the onesies and send it to the "designer."

Hi
What a great idea. You can buy fabric paint and markers. There are all kinds of iron on transfers and patches. Check your local Joann's or Tall Mouse store
Good luck

My friend did this for my shower, they came out totally cute. They bought several sizes in the onesies so my little man wore them till he was about a year. They used fabric paint-only problem is they didnt wash very well, and when people used alot of paint, you could feel the paint through the onesies so he wasn't able to wear those. They also used stampers and those came out cute as well.
