Where I live its about $250 a week, I don't know of any home daycare around me so I don't know.
Good luck to you, I now have to keep my son with me while I work because I can't affor it any more; he only gets to go to a preschool 2 times a week for 2½ hrs each for about $135 a month; not much but it helps him socialize and gives me a bit of time.

It depends on the daycare and whether it's a home daycare or center. I've charged from $900 per month- $1,000 per month, but I know that I am on the low end.

Totally depends on your area... so you'll get a lot of varied replies.

Here it ranges from $1600-$2500 per month.

Our daycare charges $175 a week for a 1 year old, but I live in a small town in the midwest. I suspect California will be much higher.

It varies somewhere between @ $125 and $175 a week for home childcare. The average is probably around $140. Thats about what I charge for mine. Centers are usually a bit more pricey and, due to the ratio they are limited to on a one year old, they will charge more for that age than for older children. Centers have to maintain a 4 to 1 ratio of children to teachers for under 2 years of age, but can have a 12 to one ratio for age 2 and up, so naturally they want to charge more to pay for the 2 extra teachers needed for the younger ones. Home childcare ratios are a bit different, so it's possible to charge the same for all ages... though I think some of those still charge more for little ones too.

It varies widely. When I looked in my area, rates were $275-$440, depending on the hours and location. I paid $299 a week for DD for FT care.

At a daycare here it would be close to $300 a week. An in-home daycare would be $190-$200 a week. Someone coming to your house can be much cheaper or much more expensive. I've found you get the same care whether you're paying more or less for in-home care.

$1300 per month in East Bay for a day care facility. In home day cares are cheaper.

IF you have never considered an au pair (live in nanny) it may be more affordable than daycare. For approx $350/week au pairs provide families 45 hrs of flexible childcare per week, can help with light household duties, help teach your child another language, and introduce your whole family to another culture.

What kind of daycare? In home or a center?

The price is going to vary greatly based on what type of center it is, and the going rate in your area.

I would imagine since you're in Sacramento, it's going to be pricier than it is here in Phoenix. For a 1 year old you're going to pay about $175 a week here for a center, and between $125-$150 a week for in home.

You really should call around to providers in your area to get a more accurate figure.

It depends on your area, and whether you are looking at chains or in-home daycares. For chains it can be as high as $275/wk for until the child turns 2. Licensed in-home (family) daycares in my area (Natomas) charge anywhere from $150 - $200/wk.

Mine charges about $270 a week for that age. But that's western PA, and you're in CA so I would expect your rates to be higher.

in texas its 105 for a two yr old weekly. the at home daycares are the same cost. some daycares also provide preschool education programs. were in texas and this includes breakfast, lunch and snack. your going to have to call around and ask. the moms day out programs at churches also cost money about the same or actually more per hour. like my kids went to a mdo and paid 375 for both per month but that was only two days a week as apposed to full time for both was 800 a month.
