I've got a fantastic nanny I could share if the schedule works out. She comes a few afternoons a week 2:30 - 6:00 (and I like that she can occasionally come all day). She's profesisonal, mature, extremely hardworking, good with kids - really makes an effort to play with my toddler (who adores her) and has a way with the baby. join peachheadnanny yahoo group. its a great resource for referrals from other moms. nannies also post on there. you can post what you are looking for an nannies will respond. also, since you are new to the area, you may want to also consider joining it's subgroup- Peachhead2 yahoo group. It's a great resource for just about anything you need... from restaurant recommendations, pediatricians, advise on parenting, schools, daycares, cleaners, stuff for sale, things you want to sell, etc... check it out. it's been a great help to me. welcome to LA-

I tried to answer your post earlier today but it hasn't shown up so if you get this twice, I'm sorry.
I have a great part time nanny. She looks after my 1 year old and 4 year old and I am expecting a another in a few weeks.
She was a referral from another mom in my daughter's pre-school class. She is great wth kids - my son (1 year old) has special needs, and speaks both Spanish and English.
She is very responsible, always takes the initiative (meaning I don't have to ask her to pack the diaper bag, feed the kids, etc., etc.) she just knows what to do - and my kids adore her.
I have her on Mondays and Fridays, but our schedule is flexible and I can always switch out days and times if needed.
Another thing - she cleans! That is, when she gets time to. It is not a mandatory part of her position at our house, but she'll do it if the kids are otherwise occupied.

Not sure what age your child is but Montessor Children's World on San Vicente and Wilshire is AMAZING. They take kids 18 mo to 5 I believe. montessoricw.com It is a high-er end school that is worth every penny.
