Daycare Info, Just Moved to FL

Hi everyone! I just moved to FL from VT and I'm trying to figure out any info about daycare assistance programs. I've been to the DCF website and feel like I'm just going in circles and not figuring anything out. Does anyone know the income guidelines to receive assistance?? Also anyone know any good affordable daycares with openings in the Oviedo area?? I'm desperate I have a job interview Wednesday and need to figure this all out! Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

L. - Congrats on the big move! The 4C organization is really helpful - they're website is www.4cflorida.org/ and they should be able to help you with the guidelines for assistance. My daughter went to Cambridge Prep in Winter Springs although it wasn't reasonable...and I also heard good things about Star Child Academy in Oviedo. Also in FL we have voluntary pre-k (VPK) for four year olds and you can get free or subsidized pre-k so make sure you sign up.

Good Luck!

Good Morning,

If you are okay with in-home childcare, daycare or nannies, then try checking on www.craigslist.org - there is a wide selection of individuals posting for childcare. Or if you choose, you can post your own ad and let someone respond to your needs.
This was the only thing I could find on income guidelines regarding DCF (look all the way at the bottom of the screen) http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/ess/tanfweb.shtml, but I don't know if that will help you at all.
Good Luck,
J.

Hi L.,

I live in Geneva right near Oviedo and my son goes to Kids Together Oviedo. They are on 419 towards Chuluota.

There's also 2 off of Mitchell Hammock behind the McDonalds, Star Child and Child Time. Both are good as I checked into both for my son last year. However, he's 4 and Star Child does not offer the free VPK.

Kids Together is very structured and similar to elementary school. They also follow a curriculum.

There are also several off of Alafaya Woods Blvd. next to Publix and Blockbuster. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Even the cost is very close per week.

Good luck,
G.
