Daycare Closing but Still Have to Pay?!?!
Hi-
My son's daycare (Windy City Kids)just notified us that they are closing for repairs from August 26th through September 6th. This poses enough of a problem because of the need to find another solution for that week, but they also are expecting full payment for the week they are closed. Is this normal?? I had him in a different daycare before and they never did anything like this so I thought I'd ask....Thanks!

Are you kidding me? I think all the parents should formally complain. There is no reason what so ever that you should have to pay for a week your child will not be there. Chances are, you will be paying for whatever "fill-in" daycare you get for that week. You don't want to be paying double. I would certainly complain!

Hi,
My name is S. and I also live in the West Loop. I am a soon to be 1st time mom, this October. I am on the waiting list for Windy City, besides this strange/wrong pay request are you happy with Windy City?
As I was looking for daycare options I asked what if I take my child out for a week and most places said I will only have to pay half for that week. I would hope Windy City would at least offer you the pay half option. I agree that it is wrong to make you pay the full amount with them knowing that you will have to make other cost arrangements.

Hi D.,
My son used to go to a daycare has the similar situation, they have this so-called summer clean up week and expect you to pay the tuition as well, I guess they are trying to take advantage to those parents just like you and me, what can you do??
good luck!
