Looking for suggestions on quick getaways from the WF area. We occasionally venture down to Dallas/Ft Worth and have been to the Forth Worth Zoo and the World Aquarium...any other family friendly spots you would recommend (we have a 15 month old)?
Thanks so much!

The Wichita Mountain Wildlife Reserve - stop for a Meer Burger.

Medicine Park

IN Wichita Falls, as your daughter gets a little older, there's the cowboy museum, the train museum, and the children's museum down town. Wichita Theater puts on some cute children's plays sometimes too.

There is also Arbuckle Wilderness, in OK. You can stay in the car and drive through the park. Once the weather warms up there is Possum Kingdom Lake near Graham.

My husband and I love to go to Medicine Park in Oklahoma. If you look it up on the internet, they have scheduled events. You might be able to find something of interest there. Of course, the Wichita Mountains and Wildlife Refuge are there, too. Good luck!!

I prefer the Oklahoma City Zoo and area- the drive is easier, less traffic and less stressful city but it has plenty to do. The Zoo was beautiful, and was a lot better than the Dallas Zoo (I have not been to FW zoo). There is also a great science center in OKC. I can't remember the name, but it is beside the zoo. I went with my new born, 2 yr old daughter and nephew and nieces ages 6 & 7 and we all had a wonderful time. There was even a fun play area just for the little ones. While in OKC check out the Lakeshore store for wonderful toys and educational activites, books etc. Have fun!
