Daughter Versus Tummy Time and Sleep
my 6 month old daughter (very cute, but a drama queen already), was sleeping through the night. She needs her paci to fall asleep and stays asleep when it falls out, however when she rolls on her stomach she wakes up and cannot get herself back to sleep. I am out of bed 3/4 times to flip her over. She goes right back to sleep but I don't always. We practice tummy time during the day but she hates it. Do I need to wait this out or do any of you fabulous moms have any tips? Thanks. A very sleepy mommy =)

You could also get a sleep wedge to help her stay in place at night, at six months it should still be effective, but in the end you will eventually want her to figure out how to get herself back to sleep. However, I used the wedge for a very long time and mercifully it helped us all get good sleep.

Hi A.:
I just went through this a few months ago when my son was 7 months old. Here is how we solved it. My pediatrician had told me, when my son started rolling that if he rolled to his stomach and fell asleep that was fine. After rolling him back for a few days (just like you are), I knew that we were just teaching him that if he rolled to his stomach and cried we would come in to rescue him. Without any other alternatives, I had to let him CIO and fall asleep. (Which was hard because I'm not an advocate of CIO.) Nonetheless, it worked after 2 tries and he has now become a great sleeper. He also hated tummy time would moan like we were torturing him (LOL), but I "worked" with him during the day on rolling...from his stomach to back and, literally, within days he could roll around the crib again both ways like an expert. Now, he does sleep much of the time on his stomach and he has become SUCH a good sleeper. :-)
Good luck to you and your little one!
A.
