Daughter's Diaper Leaks Almost Every Night...

We use huggies overnight diapers because my daughter's diaper gets so wet at night but lately she is even leaking through those. We tried going up a size in the overnights but still they leak. She sleeps about 11 hours but if I change her she wakes up. Does anyone know of any other overnight diaper, one that is more absorbant than the huggies overnights? Or any other ideas? Thank you!

What can I do next?

Hi -- Diaper Doublers worked for us. You can get them at the grocery store (light blue package, usually up above the diapers).

Hi!

To solve this same problem with my son, we used a larger size diaper at night, and added a Diaper Doubler, which looks like a large pad. They can be found at Babies-R-Us, a package of 30 costs about three dollars.

Good Luck!

Dear Jnnifr,
Yeah our daughter had the same problem. We switched Pampers cruisers, used Powerd to soak up some of the pee and then put a cloth underwear on top of that.
Good Luck,
P.
PS they also have those rubber training underwear. And DOn't forget to use some sort of mattress or quilt pad under or over sheets.

Just a thought from another perspective....how much is she drinking before bed, and at 1 yr old, does she NEED to drink that much in the evening? I'm not suggesting you potty train now, but when you are potty training everyone says limit the fluids in the evening to reduce/avoid nighttime accidents. I'm just applying the same logic to your situation to offer another approach.

A. I'd try Pampers brand. I was always a Huggies brand buyer till I had regular problems with leakage. Often the diapers were hard... kind of crunch feeling if you try to bend them. I called Huggies and they said that was a bad batch of processing. "Over processed" I think is what they called it. They sent me coupons to replace the cost, but they sent them in multiple coupons so I had to buy multiple containers to get my money back. Anyway, after buying 3 consecutive bags of "over processed" diapers I switched to Pampers and loved them.

B. You can check in your store and see if they sell inserts. I bought these because my sister said they were a life saver. They basically look like sanitary napkins that go inside the diaper to make them more absorbant. My daughter wouldn't go for the extra bulk so it didn't work for me, but my sister said they were the best thing for her.

Generally speaking, we liked the over night diapers too, but I am a big Pampers advocate because I think diapers cost enough that we should be able to expect better quality. I never had an "over processed" bag of Pampers.

Good luck.

Here's what helped us. . .we were advised to put a sanitary napkin inside the diaper and that worked. Eventually, we didn't have to do that. . .when we moved his bottle to earlier in the evening verses right at bed time. But it worked and I was so thankful for it. Hope that helps.

HI- We had the same thing!! Our Daughter used to "Pee Through" every night- What we did was to move up one size of Huggies Overnights AND we put a "diaper doubler" in her diaper too! Finally, we have "dry" mornings! Diaper Doublers are made a a bunch of different companies- but NOT the major diaper brands- The packaging tends to be pale blue for some reason...Sometimes I have a hard time finding them- Stores tend to be out of them quite often- They are usually at one end of the diaper shelves at Giant... and sometimes Safeway- I don't recall ever finding them at Target... When I do find them I tend to stock up since I don't know when I'll see them again. They are basically just like menstrual pads, but without the adhesive on the back, so they are just all pad. I have heard of people using two diapers at night too- but that seemed excessive to me!!! :) Good luck!

Try Goodnights. They are far better. We occstionally have leaks with those but it is rare. My 7 year old still has issues and those are the only pull ups that help. I just looked at them to find the brand for you and I think that's it. Just Goodnights. They have a boy version and a girl version. I've found them at Wal-Mart and Target and at most grocery stores but not at Costo. They aren't cheap but they work.
