For my daughter's 13th we got her a pair of diamond (small) studs. She seemed to really like them. A friend got her daughter a pearl necklace for her 13th.

I think whatever you decide will be great!

Blessings!

If she likes jewelry, and takes good care of it, what about a NICE piece of jewelry?

How about a cute purse. 13 year olds are into Coach bags. Perhaps a wristlet for her phone?

Concert tickets are fun too.

A nice ring?

You could take her & a friend to a concert.

Buy her a nice piece of real jewelry, perhaps a small gold ring if she'll
where it.

Also, take her & friend out to dinner.

You could even throw in some makeup.

Is there a concert coming up that you and her dad could take her to?

Play off the "13" and do 13 gifts. They don't all need to be expensive, but how fun to have them out and maybe even numbered to make sure she sees there are 13! Maybe a few friends out to a restaurant or a movie if there is one out that she wants to see. Or overnight at a hotel with a pool (not ALONE of course, you stay as well!).

My 13th birthday is one of the few that I remember clearly and distinctly- my parents took me to DC and Williamsburg, VA. SO, if budget is not a concern, I would take her to Nashville! Other than that, I think concert tickets or a nice piece of jewelry would be great.

It depends on her interests.

"13 year old girl" is not nearly enough info!

Is she sporty, girly, crafty, musical, artsy.... Does she like clothes and makeup? Etc. etc. etc.

Tough, I think it would be fun to do a big mother/daughter date, if the two of you are close. Go get mani/pedis, hair done, movie, mall, dinner at a decent place... Whatever with just the two of you.

It depends on the budget and her interests.

We've done parties at the country club and at our home with a DJ and the works (catered food, dance contests, prizes)

The limo party was a hit when we had it pick everyone up at their home then drive them around town, end up a nice hotel, swim, go to dinner, have dessert, swim, watch movies, have late night room service snacks and leave by 10am the next morning after breakfast.

My daughter, now 19, liked the Backstreet Boys and when they came to Dallas, we had front row seats for her and a friend. I think she was 15 or 16 at that time. We hired a limo service to drive them to and from the venue.

Our daughter likes to go to concerts and Dallas has a lot of good artists come through. We've been to a bunch of great concerts.

My daughter just graduated from high school and for graduation, we got her a David Yurman ring.. she picked it out. It is beautiful and she treasures it.

It simply depends on what your daughter likes and your budget. My daughter loves mani/pedi, spray tan, nice jewelry, nice clothes, IPod, IPhone and her nice car.

We got a small compact Bose sound system that is great for the IPhone and Ipod.

Happy Birthday to your daughter!

For 13, my parents let me get my ears pierced, and my dad bought me a nice, semi-expensive pair of earrings (for when the starters were done)

I copied this from a reply I did to someone else asking a similar question:

One of my friend's daughters is having a milestone birthday this month. She has asked all of the women in her life (aunts, older cousins, family friends, etc...) to purchase a small (inexpensive) charm for her bracelet. We are each giving her a charm & writing her a letter on the significance of it & of the wishes/dreams/prayers we have for her as she matures. I thought that was neat idea.

What is she into? I know that at this age they are into going to concerts, teen idols etc. We just bought Bruno Mars tickets for my niece who just turned 13 years old. She like One Direction and all of the bands that are out now. She also got their perfume and a purse.
I guess it depends on what she is into and the clothes she wears and what your budget is.
We all know they don't have a budget.
We took a few of her friends to the theater. Something interactive and different. What about tickets to sporting events?
I'm just guessing as I don't know what your daughter likes or is into.
All girls like music, iPods, etc.
How about taking her for a getaway.
I hope some of this gives you an idea.
Good luck.

13 is SPECIAL! How about a "13" themed party? invite 13 friends, have a 13 cakes, have 13 mustaches, 13 of her favourite country songs on a CD...stuff like that.

For my daughters, now 18 and 14, it was never about the gift, but what we could DO for her birthday. We have been pretty creative over the years. Here is the bottom line, my daughters could not tell you what gift they got for any of their birthdays, but they remember the party/event that we celebrated with! That is the gift!
