Daughter and Friend Got into the Markers! HELP

My daughter and her friend got into the markers. The decided to color my daughter pink. Now she has pink permanent marker all over her arms and legs. I immediately gave her a bath. That only lightened it. Does anyone know how to get the rest off. We have family pics on Saturday. Please Help! Any ideas would be great.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you everyone for all your great ideas. It's been a few days and the marker has lightened. We have taken lots of showers and used alcohol and some of the other ideas and the worked. So I think we will be just fine for pictures. Thank you all for suggestions and ideas. Her dad and I took lots of pictures and got a great laugh out of it. It will be a very funny story to tell her in the future. Thank you all again.

This is going to sound funny, but I actually just watched a video yesterday that said that rubbing the inside of a banana peel on it would remove permanent marker from skin. It looked like it worked perfectly! It's worth a shot before you try harsher things!

Hope it works for you!

Have you tried rubbing alcohol? It may be a little cold, and a little stinky, but it may help. Good luck!

It might not help much since you've already given her a bath - but keep this hint for the next time ... before getting the marker wet with water, use rubbing alcohol on the marker spots and that should take it off (or most of it)! Got this hint from my pedi years ago when we got to his office and one of my own had gotten into markers at daycare!

Well luckily you have a couple of days - it will fade mostly - fingernail polish remover will also take most of it off. More than likely though it won't show in the pics by this weekend. And what a story you can tell her later!! Good luck!

P.,

You can try dabbing with nail poslish remover. Then wash her skin well afterwards and put on moisturizer.

I have done that before with my daughter and it works.

Good luck.

Try men's shaving cream...the white foam kind. I have 2 sons and we found out by accident that it works on just about anything. They had a play shaving kit for the bathtub and the shaving cream that came with it would get out markers and tattoos that regular soap couldn't touch. Now we use my husband's and it works just as well. Just rub it on and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off. It has worked wonders for us!

P.,
Rubbibg alcohol should do the trick. I use it on all ink stains regardless of color. Good body moisturizer sure fix the dry skin. Good luck.

Did you try putting hair spray on a cotton ball and see if it would wipe off with that?

When I was spray painting last summer, my feet ended up a strange tint of green from the paint! I used BeautiControl microdermabrasion and it took it off. You would not want to use something that harsh on a two year old, but the same concept would apply. I'd try salt and lemon juice or water and baking soda. These are as natural ingredients as anything that might do the trick. Make sure to use lots of moisturizer for several days afterward.

Sorry I don't have any advice for you but being a grandmother now, I can tell you that if the marker shows in the picture, 20 years from now, it will be funny. You have proof that she was not always the angel and shouldn't expect her children to always be perfect. Right now you are frustrated by it. I know from experience that this will be priceless many years down the road.
Thank you for your sacrifice for our wellbeing and continue to enjoy your family and life in general.
