Any of you tried a dark spot corrector product? Can you recommend an inexpensive brand that worked for you?
TIA!

I would echo that the Garnier corrector did not work, nor did Avon's discoloration corrector or Mary Kay's microdermabrasion (which I see no longer makes the claim of improving skin discoloration). I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the responses and trying some out.

I use the Even Better Creme from Clinique to help keep things evened out. If you look at the long run... Yes, Clinique sounds expensive but 1 bottle or container around $50 should last you about 6 months.

Get a free sample from the counter representative and try it out.

I do have a place on my neck that spotted lightly, especially in summer when I drive the convertible in the sun.... This product did help reduce the mark. I use super duper sunscreen on it now to make sure it does not get worse.

ETA: I am NOT referring to Clinique turnaround creme. It is a good product and I endorse Clinique whole heartedly over 20 yrs but turnaround had too much of the benzoyl peroxide for me.

The even better is NOT that product

The Dr. Weil one works but it's expensive. The Garnier one is not expensive and doesn't work.

I just tried the oil of Olay CC cream that is supposed to do that, along with other things. It broke me out so I had to take it back. The BB cream from Loriel does pretty good.

I love Lancome's Bright Expert, but it's expensive ($70). It lasts a long time, though, which makes it more reasonable.

I wanted to search recommendations given here, because I really want to find something, too -- Debra's rec of hydroquinone sounded good, although I'm allergic to fluroquinolone family antibiotics and wanted to see if it was related, so I searched it, and found this very disturbing article about hydroquinone. Don't know how accurate it is since it's for another product, but wanted to share.

I don't know what you would consider "inexpensive" for this type of product. The Clinique product appears to have over all good reviews, working for approximately 3 out of every 4 users. Their smallest bottle (1 oz) is $50 and says it lasts about 4 weeks with twice daily use (the recommended frequency).

This looks helpful, and the first one listed says it's $24 per bottle (can't see bottle size in picture... sorry!)

I tried the Clinique product, and my skin dried up and peeled so badly that i looked like i had a white beard for a week. It was very embarassing. And no, it didn't help with the spots. Fortunately, Clinique gave me a full refund without a single question. So no risk there.

What did work for me was a cream my OB GYN prescribed when I mentioned my frustration with the dark spots on my face and forearms. Best yet, 2 big tubes cost me $35 at the pharmacy. No, i have no insurance coverage. It's calle Hydroquinone. Oh, at it worked! Took about 2 months to see the effect, but I'm almost spot free now. And no white beard!
