Bare Minerals makeup is the best to conceal. I am also waiting on that Miracle cream and haven't found it yet. I used to use Mary Kay concealers but found that Bare Minerals works 10 times better to conceal the circles. I have had horrible circles since I was a teenager and have never had a product work as well as Bare Minerals makeup. Although it seems a little pricey, it lasts for months so it really isn't too bad.

I own a Mary Kay cosmetics business and we have a wonderful relatively new product called Targeted Action Eye Revitalizer. It is a wonderful product that not only has lasting effects to lessen darkness under the eyes, but also helps reduce any puffiness you may have.
Mary Kay products are all 100% guaranteed and you can receive a full refund if you do not see the results you desire within 30 days. If you are interested in trying this wonderful product you may go to www.marykay.com/ahawkins429. This will take you straight to my website. No shipping is required and you only add tax to the item/s you desire.
I hope this helps and please contact me for more information if desired.
Good luck, A. H
P.S. I have several customers who have seen wonderful results. I use it myself and have seen results as well.

As for the dark circles themselves, I am not sure. Some people benefit more from a yellow concealer, and some a green. If you are not one to wear heavy makeup (and all those chemicals) you can try a variation (MUCH cheaper and personal) of the Bare Minerals. It is a company called Smoky Mountain Minerals. I was first introduced to them on e-bay. They are very personal, and provide the BEST customer service quickly. With their product, you get MUCH more quality/quantity, for less than HALF the price of the Bare Minerals (the SAME thing!). They have the concealers in yellow and green (they will send you a FREE sample baggie of each) when you order something else. I would suggest Halo Glow and Mineral Viel. The MV lessens the appearance of large pores, and ANY/ALL imperfections by reflecting light off of the area in which you apply it, for an all over smoother look. They also carry skin toned concealer in various shades. Lastly the Halo Glow is like a highlighter that you can place on the circles and into the corners of your eyes for that all over "awake and youthful look". I was the BIGGEST skeptic when I first heard of the Bare Minerals type of makeup (I am one who used to apply a thick MASK of all day wear foundation before anything in the morning, followed by heavy powder to set, etc.). When you contact Smoky Mountain Minerals, they have the smaller jar sizes to try out, and if you don't find a "package deal" in the store site, just write down the things you want, put it in an email, and they will invoice you, rather than purchasing unwanted makeup. Just mention that you would love to try a small sample of the yellow and green concealer to go under the skin toned concealer with your order. They will always happily oblige requests. OK, really lastly (haha) they have another excellent thing called EMU oil (you can research it other than their site) it is all natural, and has been proven to reduce scars and many other things. I have heard of women using in for dark circles too, as it is a skin discoloration, just as is a scar. I know this was long, but I really hope it helps. I happened on them by accident, and normally don't promote anything, but I have the HORRIBLE large red patches on my lower jaw area and nose from being Irish, and it does wonders for me!

1) Try out all kinds of concealers and color corrective makeups to find one that best suits your skin type/texture.
2) Ask your family doctor about allergies. They will cause dark circles under your eyes to be more pronounced.
3) Drink more water and keep hydrated.
4) Accept that they are there because of a number of factors: blood vessels, genetics, etc. You can do a few things to help minimize, but they will not entirely go away!
Good luck!

Some of us are fair-skinned and the circles are normal. (The skin under your eyes is thin and the blood vessels show through.) Of course, if it's only now bothering you, this may be new for you. If you have a little one who is keeping you from sleeping, your answer is to get more sleep. You may want to go to the doctor and have your iron checked -- you may be a little anemic. Do your nails have ridges? Do you bruise easily? It's a simple finger-prick test. If you smoke, you have one more incentive for quitting. Could be allergies, too. As the weather warms and you spend less time indoors, they may improve -- unless you're allergic to the myriad pollens of Spring.

If you rule out health reasons, find a good cosmetic company. Bare Minerals has an undereye powder that works really well. Mary Kay makes a good undereye cream too.

Also, we get paler in the winter. Perhaps when the sun comes back out and you can get out more, you'll "pink up"!

Hi P.,

Stubby is right about the blood passing through the veins under the eyes and if you're fair-skinned it will be more prominent. However, you can lessen the appearance of dark circles if there is something other than genetics involved.

First avoid fatigue, funny, huh? What mother can do that? Try anyway.

Toxins in your system can cause blood vessel dilation. Heart, Thyroid and Liver disorders along with medications can cause blood vessel dilation too. The dark circles could be a sign of something more serious. IF you smoke or are exposed to smoke, this can make them worse. Too much salt or not enough Vitamin C can cause dark circles too. Drink plenty of water. Water helps flush toxins from your system.

I take an antioxidant supplement called Provex CV that removes plaque from the arterial system, strengthens the vascular wall and also restores elasticity to, not only the vascular system (and those tiny little veins under my eyes), but to the epidermal tissue. This is not only good for your heart but the dark circles fade and the skin looks younger.

Hope I helped!

Regards,

M.

The yellow concealer is for under eyes, the green works best on red spots like pimples and broken vessels around your nose. I like the bare minerals idea. I used a similar moisturizer from Clinique, and liked the results. Also, try using some Preparation H at night.

You can't. Dark circles are a fact of life unless you go to a dermotologist. Dark circles are caused by blood passing through the veins which can be seen more because of the thin skin under the eye.

If you use products that help "lessen" the darkness to certain degrees. You'll want to research your ingredient list and look for ingredients that "plump" up under the skin that contains no irritants (like the ones found in lip plumpers).

Take care with a lot of cosmetics that claim to get rid of dark circles. Only a dermatologist can tell you for certain if your circles can be eliminated.

Cover them with a really good concealer (many suggestions above) but learn how to place the concealer on properly to keep it from fading out or caking during the day. There's a TON of makeup advice at www.makeuptalk.com that can help you out :)

Try a yellow concealer (Physician's Formula) or an eye cream with Vitamin K. Just make sure to use the concealer sparingly.

besides more sleep, bobbi brown's corrector makes mine the color of my other skin; at night i might also wear the bobbi brown concealer over the corrector, which would be too much for me during the day.

besides that, kiehl's makes this eye "brightener" that is not cheap ($40 for a little tube) but i think it has helped a lot and you don't have to use a whole lot at a time. - nancy w

Here are a few tips to deal with dark circles:

- Massage Vitamin E or almond oil around the eyes without touching the eyes (massage must strictly be external). This improves blood circulation.

- As a quick fix during parties, use a makeup concealer to hide the dark circle. But remember this is only a temporary solution.

- Get a lot of sleep. Sleeplessness is a culprit for most health problems. Have a set routine and have regular sleep timing. Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep.

- Drink lots of water. For anything related to health, water is still the best beverage.

- Grate raw potato, squeeze the juice and apply the juice under your eyes for 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can also place thin slices of potato on your eyes (with them closed) every night before you retire. This is one of the most popular and time-tested home remedies for dark circles.

- Include a lot of green leafy veggies in your diet. Also include food rich in Vitamin A and E.

- Indulge in some kind of exercise like walking, jogging. Yoga, especially pranayama is known to improve skin health.

- Take two thin slices of cucumber and place them on your eyes. This removes the puffiness and cools the eyes - Dip cotton in rose water and place them on your eyes.

- Reduce salt intake in your food. Excess salt encourages fluid retention and leads to puffy eyes.

- The area under your eyes has very sensitive skin, so never use chemical bleach.

- You can also place used tea bag (cold) on your eyes which helps lessen the darkness - Avoid exposing your skin to harsh rays of the sun. Especially for the eyes, wear sunglasses whenever you step out in the sun

- Apply any best eye cream for dark circles containing vitamin K and argiline. Dark circles may be caused by a deficiency of vitamin K. Regardless of the cause, however, skin creams containing these two ingredients reduce puffiness and discoloration significantly in many people. Long-term daily use seems to have the greatest effect.

I've had dark circles and under-eye bags since I was a teenager and some it is heredity. I did find a great concealer from Lancome that is waterproof and covers EVERYTHING. It is the one that comes in a tube(can't remember the name). It's $23.50 but once I can't squeeze anymore out, I cut the tube open and can get a lot more uses-just remember to keep it in a plastic baggie once you cut it to avoid getting it all over your other makeup and makeup bag!

Dear, Dear...I've been trying to get rid of mine for what seems like eternity. I've found the best thing is sleep, exercise and drinking lots of water. My dermotologist told me that the vessels under my skin around my eyes are close to the surface, causing the darkness to be more noticeable. I use concelor and often hope for the miracle cream!!
