Dance / Ballet Classes for 4 Year Old Daughter

I would like to ask if anyone can recommend a good ballet/dance schools in the Newark, Nutley, Belleville, Bloomfield, Montclair areas. I have a soon-to-be 4 year old that would really like to take classes on Saturdays. I'd like to try it for the summer and see if she really is interested.

She loves to sing and dance around the house, but that does not necessarily mean she will enjoy ballet classes, but I'd like to try it out...

So What Happened?™

I ended up registering my daughter in a summer ballet/tap camp for 5 weeks to see how she liked it. She LOVED it. I ended up registering her to continue going from September to June. I registered her at the Nancy Carole School of Dance in Lyndhurst, NJ. They are great there. She loves the teachers and always has a great time.

Hi J.,

My daughter went to Dancers in Motion, in Nutley, Franklin Avenue. I had to stop taking her because of the schedule change by the new owner. It is a very nice place. I also heard of a place in Lynhurst across the bridge from belleville to Lynhurst of a dance and theater program that parents seem to love that went to Dancers In Motion. Good Luck! :)

Stories in motion in Montclair has a ballet program. I took their mommy and me dance class with my 18 mo. We did one toddler ballet class too. I'm going to bring my DD back in a year or two for the real ballet class because she really enjoyed it. Classes and teachers are great. www.storiesinmotion.com

The YMCA in Montclair has dance classes for that age, and it's relatively cheap - good if you're not sure if she'll enjoy it.
