Going around distributing their "cookies"! I know what their plan is. They aren't going to succeed!! Nope!

I am going to sue!! One million dollars for every pound I gain this week!! Oh yeah, that will teach them!

Ya know what will make it better? A class action suit!

Who's with me?

Just so you guys know I have one of those little cookie pushers in my house! Damn that sweet smile and curling up on my lap discussing the potential prizes, thankfully they freeze well. :)

So What Happened?

Mamzita! I cannot have Samoas, they don't make them anymore!! They have this awful cheap knock off called a Caramel deLites. I know because I just choked down six of them which prompted this post!!!

Julie, okay, here is the deal, I will send you money and you will get me the real thing!!! Okay? :D

Did I mention that Troy locked two boxes of thin mints in the safe to keep them from the kids.

I don't really think they are cookies I think they have some addictive quality that perhaps should be studied. :s

Yah. I'm with you. It's the damn mint ones that get me. And the scout's sweet little smiles. Now if they only looked like Rush Limbaugh, I MIGHT have an easier time saying no. ;-)

I love this post. I am a GS leader going on 9 years. @Jim at Home Dad: guess what! I just downloaded an app that will allow me to accept charge cards at our next cookie booth sale! Ka-ching!

For those of you who just can't resist that cute little smile (and my 9th graders KNOW they don't cut it any more), buy a box for a US soldier. They so appreciate such a distinctive taste of home.

Viva la GS cookie! (Which were originally home baked by the girls themselves but for dept of health reasons, not anymore). And they are still cheaper than Mallomars-my all time fave!

For those of you who want Samoas, you need to find a council buying from Little Brownie Bakers. They have the copyright on that flavor and name.

PM me, if you are interested, for a link to a great PSA on Youtube about Operation Cookie Drop going on here in the Hudson Valley.

Thanks to you all for your support of this great organization, even if it costs you a few pounds and your marriage. =)

Well, those bi*ches kicked me out when I was a kid so sure, I am in!

Seriously, I did get kicked out and it was because I refused to sell the cookies because at that time your parents had to pay ahead of time for the cookies then you sold them and you were stuck with what was left - my family was not in a position to do so and they said I was not allowed to be a scout if I did not sell cookies.

ETA: Disappointed where the money goes? The troop gets some, the baker gets paid and the rest stays in the region, most use it for the camps. ?? What else are they supposed to do with it?

There SHOULD be a class action suit, for mislabeling their product. They claim to be trans-fat free, but they're not! I'm a health advocate, and yes, a bit of a health nut, so every year when I see the girls and their cookies, I get mixed emotions; I would love to buy and support, but some of the ingredients in those cookies aren't healthy. It's a shame that an organization like the Girl Scouts doesn't make a healthier option.

They DO make Samoas but you need to know -- different types of cookies are available in different regions of the U.S., so apparently in your region the baker has gone with some other flavor and not Samoas. We have tons of them here in Virginia. It all depends on which baker makes the cookies that your area gets! We lost our beloved Lemon Chalet Cremes (hugely popular around here) but it seems that the replacement, Savannah Smiles (also lemon but not a creme cookie) is also massive hot here this year.

Agitate for your Samoas! Start a petition! Thank you for making me smile!

This is the first year we haven't bought any in a LOOOONG time. Usually husband orders 2-3 boxes from someone at work who's child is a GS. And I usually order a few from a girl in the neighborhood (both in our old neighborhood and the one we are in now has had a GS living there). And usually, I end up buying at least one box at the table they set up outside the grocery store.
But this year--nobody had an order sheet at husband's work. The girl in our neighborhood didn't do GS this year. And they weren't at our grocery store. So we just missed the whole thing.

They're overpriced anyway,
