Cupcake/Bakery Business Names... Be Creative!

I am at the very beginning stages of creating a cupcake/bakery business. I love to make cupcakes, although I've done cakes, pies, cookies and other desserts as well. I have offered myself to my local friends and I've gotten a few takers. But I'm thinking I should have some business cards with my name and number on them in case someone else wants to "hire" me. Anyway, I'm looking for a good business name, that doesn't include my name or limit myself to cupcakes. I want something a little different. I liked "Yummy Deliciousness" but alas it's too long. I also thought about "Delicious Creations" but my graphic designer sister thought it was too ordinary and it could be anything. Does anyone have any ideas???

What can I do next?

Take the Cake - it illudes to the portability of the cupcake without being restrictive, and has the name cake in it, which will signal that it's a bakery business. You can have the As in each look like cupcakes. Balanced. Graphically pleasing. Not too long. Easy to remember since it rhymes.

There's a cupcake shop in Oklahoma called "Cuppy N Joes"

I vote for C.'s Crumbs!! Suggested by OneandDone! That way you are not tied down to just cupcakes. Your graphic design sister could do a really cute pic of treats with crumbs all around.
Good luck and GOD BLESS!

Your sister is right--names like that could apply to ANYTHING!

You'd actually be better off with something like C.'s Cupcakes (But I know you don't want to limit to just cupcakes).

So then I would move on to single words that don't try "too hard" to describe what you're doing.....like "Bliss" or "Pans" or "Crumbs" or "Tins" or "Cupels"

OR Something descriptive but not overly so...like "Delicacies" or "Savories"

You know what you can do come up with some names yourself and conduct a survey to see which names people prefer. When I was in school and had to come up a with a business name my business partner and myself came up with about 15 names and had everyone vote. We had a clear winner :)

C. - That is neat that you are starting this business. Congratulations! As you pick a name, you should keep in mind that there are trademark implications in picking a name. Just because you like a name doesn't mean that it is legally available for you to adopt since the same or similar name may be in use by someone else. The standard under trademark law is whether two parties' respective names (marks) are "confusingly similar," and, if they are, the subsequent user is liable for trademark infringement. Lack of intent to infringe is no defense, nor does a party's trademark need to be registered (federal or state) to be protected from infringement. People often make the mistake of doing their own online search of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office records and thinking that if they don't find the exact same mark federally registered, they are safe to proceed with their proposed mark. There is so much more involved than that in doing a proper trademark search and clearance. At the risk of sounding self-serving, the best thing you could do is to consult a trademark lawyer. (I am a trademark lawyer.)

For me, it would depend upon several things - are you only going to do Cupcakes? Or are you going to do all sorts of desserts? you say bakery - when i think of bakery - i think of breads and rolls too.

Will you end up specializing in one thing?
Will you do wedding cakes as well which no matter the state of the economy weddings happen as well as Christenings...

I was going to suggest The CupCakery, but see it has already been used. Your name needs to specify what you do. Will noodle on it and get back to you if I come up with something!

Best of luck!
