Has anyone used any of the Crest 3d white products? After yrs of smoking and mountain dew and coffee my teeth are horrible but I just cant afford a professional to fix em for me! I am so embarrassed to smile and to take pictures! I know there is tooth paste, mouth wash and strips, so if anyone has used 1 of the products or a combo of them Id like to know how you liked em! Thanks!

ps. I dont smoke or drink mountain dew, just my morning cup of coffee. Last time I posted about using teeth whitening products pregnant I got lectured!

What can I do next?

I used the crest whitening mouthwash every night... it had a little bit of an effect, but not enough to write home about. I imagine if you used it with strips or something you would see better results than I did. :)

I've used the 3D white toothpaste and it made enough of a difference for a close friend to notice my brighter smile. I don't/never have smoked or drank anything staining on a regular basis, but have naturally yellow-toned teeth. They aren't professional treatment white, but definitely brighter.

Our dentist says to use a whitening tube of toothpaste one month and a
non whitening tube the next.. The whitening paste can be pretty strong and make your teeth sensitive.. The crest White strips also help, just do not over use them..

Remember to always purchase "ADA" toothpaste.

Hi S.,

If you look on the package all the dental products (ALL of them) have exactly the same ingredients and they are also in the same amounts. I'm not sure how the dental industry gets away with it. I was so surprised when I looked, I stood in the grocery store and read the label on all of them thinking something would be different. It wasn't.

I drink my one cup of coffee in the morning as well. I use a tooth polish that has no fluoride but high grade tea tree oil in it. It keeps my teeth white. My kids have never had a cavity either.

Regards,

M.

PS There was a post on here a few weeks ago where a lady had developed "black hairy tongue" from a tooth whitening product. I believe she had the whitening done at the dentist's office. Apparently something killed the good bacteria in her mouth and the bad bacteria took control. If I can still find it, I'll PM you.

i dont smoke but i drink too much coffee (damn keurig!)... i used the whitening strips and they really made a noticable difference, everyone noticed. however, they made my teeth really sensitive (temporarily) and gave me a sore throat by the end of the thing. so now i space them out more and its good. my husband used them, he also doesnt smoke but drinks coffee, and they did nothing for him. imo its def worth the 30 bucks to give it a try, the crest white strips advanced were the ones i used, but maybe go a little slow.

I am a never smoked, no red wine, but coffee drinker and tried the new 3-D toothpaste. I noticed a little difference after a a month and finishing a tube, but not sure enough to justify paying and extra $1. 50 per tube. If I see it on sale or get a decent coupon I would try it longer. Never triend the whitening strips but would be curious to see what others who have think.

I've been using it for a month and haven't noticed any results. I also just read that a lot of the whitening products remove the outer layer of teeth and make them very sensitive. I'm a smoker and soda addict. Check to see if there are any dental schools in your area. Here in Saginaw they have a dental clinic that does cheap cleanings and fillings. Check with your local Health Department. Also if you call 1-800-dentist they can find you a local dentist that is affordable and takes payments. Some hair salons in our area offer lazer teeth whitening for $30 also.

You are probably getting this answer really late but I wanted to tell you that I have done the Crest Whitestrips and I also have the whitening bleach trays from my dentist. Crest is hands down the better choice. I hate the bleach trays. They are uncomfortable and I feel like I have to use them much more frequently than the strips. I AM a smoker (although not proud to admit) and my teeth get very white. So much so that people notice all the time. I am also a coffee drinker AND a red wine drinker. I'm telling you that the Whitestrips take it all away and it lasts for a very long time.

I've used the strips. They work, although it takes a little while, and they last a good while. Worth it if you have a particular event you want to whiten your teeth for! Be careful, though. The stuff used in OTC whitening products have been linked with increased mouth sores such as canker sores, so if you're prone (as I am) you may want to avoid them. Good luck.

I think the at home whiteners are expensive too! You might try making a paste out of water and baking soda and rinsing several times a day with hydrogen peroxide. Works well.

I have not used Crest 3D...I don't use any of the store or the top name brand products. We use all non-toxic products (from Melaleuca).

I am using the 3d whitestrips now and they are really working. I have never smoked but, I drink coffee and diet coke. I have been drinking through a straw since I started the strips. I am noticing my teeth getting whiter and whiter. My husband is also using them and they are doing the trick. He used to smoke but not heavily and he drinks coffee but, does not drink soda regularly anymore. My teeth are a little sensitive so, I have not been using them everyday like it says but, every other day. We have tried the toothpaste and if it did make a difference it was too subtle to notice. Have also tried the mouthwash and it was the same as the toothpaste. I used 3 10 off coupons and got our whitestrips for 20 bucks a piece instead of the regular 50 whatever they cost. Good luck!
