Creative Gift for Best Friend's 40Th

My mind is a complete blank. My friend is crafty and creative and can make something hideous look fantastic. I want to give her something special and original. Any ideas?

Sorry not to creative but one of my all time favorite gifts was a spa day together. We drank champagne and talked. I loved just being with her.
Even if you can't afford the spa thing...try to do something with just the 2 of you. You don't realize how much yuo miss the days where you could just sit and gab without anyone yelling mom.

When my husband turned 50 I hired this company. They came out and decorated our lawn and it was so much fun to see his face when he came home from work. Best 60.00 I ever spent.

We gave our friend a box full of 40 bags...each had 40 things in them. We did 40 pieces of all sorts of candy, 40 pieces of all sorts of weird things (cotton balls, Qtips, rocks my boys had gathered, etc.) Then we put $40 in one dollar bills in a bag at the bottom. It was really fun and there was so much laughter as she unpacked the box. We also took her out to eat.

go to www.etsy.com , they have a gift guides section that has a lot of great ideas from some sellers, and they even have a request custom item section, where you can give details about what she likes and what you are looking for and people will bid on the project. It is really easy.

Hi J.~

I am an independant consultant for Scentsy Candles. If you haven't ever heard of Scentsy, they are a wickless, flameless, smokeless, leadless candle. They make a great, unique gift ;) Scentsy uses warmers to melt Scentsy wax bars using a 25 watt light bulb. The wax does not get hot enough to burn, just warms it enough to throw scent which makes them safer than wicked candles. There are dozens of warmers to choose from (including plug-in warmers) to match any decor. There are also over 80 scentsational scents available & they are stronger & longer lasting than wicked candles. I haven't made any yet, but I have some ideas for some really nice gift baskets. Check out my website, & if you have any questions, please give me a call.

Try an exquisite, original Birthday Story Book from Nonnie's Little Notes. Bring your original (not copyrighted) photos and talk to me about your friend's wonderful qualities and the experiences you most treasure with her. I'll write a lovely poem or narrative to follow the trail of pictures embellished by pressed flowers, lace, ribbons and exquisite foil and decorative flowers, birds and other amazing accents to make each page special. Not a 'crafty' gift, but an artisan designed heirloom. Bring a coupon for 15% off

I specialize in custom items! About 80% of my business is custom & I love brainstorming with customers trying to find that "unique" item.

You know what she likes best. I always think a basket full of favorite things is best. Did she ever want to do something and never really had time to pursue it? Like art, sewing, pottery, etc. Get a start up kit, a canvas, an easel or some sculpting clay. A huge journal and put some of your thoughts about her in it, pictures of the two of you, really pour your heart out, and maybe some tickets for the two of you or her and the hubby. Good luck.
