Over the weekend, I walked into an Ace Hardware store, and there was something about the smell of the place that I just LOVED!! To the extent that I keep taking really deep breaths, hoping to smell that scent combination again, and I'm really trying to come up with an excuse to go there after work! lol So, has anyone else had this kind of thing happen to them? With my first pregnancy, I enjoyed the smell of warm paper fresh off the printer! Am I just weird? :)

What can I do next?

That's hilarious. :) I wonder, do you have an iron deficiency? I have a friend who would crave dirt when she was pregnant. She had to stop herself from going out back and chowing down on the yard. She also liked to chew ice when she was pregnant. All of it was because of an iron deficiency she had because of being pregnant. Ace has that metallicy/gardening soil smell doesn't it? Just a thought. ;) Regardless, enjoy!

I didn't even enjoy the smell of fresh air when I was pregnant! I was so sick that even certain colors made me throw up!

I did have two cravings and they are weird! I craved watching Spongebob Squarepants and eating a Burger King Whopper without the meat. Pregnancy is STRANGE! :)

Enjoy your trip to Ace!

I don't think you're weird. :) When I was pregnant with twins I really enjoyed the smell of bleach and other cleaners. I didn't go around intentionally inhaling them, but if I came across those scents, it was a mood lifter for sure. I mentioned that in an online pregnancy forum and someone insisted that I go to the doctor because she was sure I had pica, even though I had no desire to actually eat/drink cleaners. Lol.
Anyway, since we're sharing...

The weirdest thing that made me nauseous during pregnancy:
An ad for a silk necktie--- For some reason I had an aversion to the print.

The weirdest thing I craved:
A taco with grape jelly and mayo--I DIDN'T eat it! Lol.

The weirdest craving I gave in to:
Coco Puffs cereal ( maybe it was Kix) with chocolate syrup.-- I ate it and it was good. <|:o)

No out of the ordinary cravings for me. Just food. With my first I craved fish and chips (I was a vegetarian at that time). I made my husband drive all over the county in search of the best fish and chips. I think it was the malt vinegar I was actually craving. Conversely, I couldn't stand the smell of pizza though. Hubs was bummed.

With baby #2 I was not a vegetarian and I craved Mexican food. I would just die for a taco! We frequented the local taqueria at least 3 times a week! Just the thought of hot dogs made me want to barf!

I worked at Steak and Ale for 6 years. That place always smelled soooo good to me until I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter. All of a sudden it smelled like old grease. And I worked there until I was 38 weeks....

With my daughter I craved nachos with the fake cheese and extra jalapenos EVERY DAY for about a month straight. I would drive to the mall, head to the food court, get 2 large orders of nachos, and then grab an extra large lemonade from Hot Dog On A Stick. My husband sat quiety while I sutffed myself every time.

I also got addicted to Dunkin Donuts and tuna sandwiches from Subway!

I've heard of women craving smells during pregnancy-- that's called something, I can't remember what. My ex SIL used to crave the smell of the inside of her shoe and the smell of the car air conditioner. I remember her telling me also that she had licked a couple of rocks. Weirdo!

I've never had any weird cravings myself. For me it was more of a general diet craving. With my oldest daughter, I was so sick all the time, I had NO appetite, so no food ever sounded good. I even had a hard time drinking. With my second pregnancy, healthy food sounded good. I couldn't stand the thought of eating bread or starchy things. I mostly wanted salads & fresh vegetables & lean meats. With this one, I'm craving kid food all the time. Candy, cake, cookies, ice cream, bubble gum, chocolate milk. If it's not good for me, I want it! It sucks!!
