So What Happened?™
Thanks everyone, a combination of WD-40, Dawn and Goo-Gone seems to be working, but what a pain!! Someone needs to invent a one step solution to this problem and they would be a rich woman!! No more crayons in the pockets at church for my son.

Try De-solve it. As for the dryer itself have you tried the magic eraser by Mr Clean? It takes crayon off the walls and baseboards so why not the dryer?

Crayola.com has all the answers you need. They can get it out of clothes too. Good luck. It is not a fun process. :(

Goo Gone has worked when I had that problem. It's a bit oily, so be sure to clean all residue of the Goo Gone as well. After removing the crayon, I wiped the inside of the dryer again and again and again (and again) with a damp sponge that was rinsed a lot. Then I ran some old damp towels through the machine.

Martha Stewart had a show with a guest on it that had some make-at-home solution that worked wonders. I cannot remember the solution or the show, but you could search her website or call the show. It was about a year ago.

Hi!
There are 2 products you can try. I use De-Solv-It on sticky/waxy stuff and it works really well. It works on gum too. I've had it forever and can't remember where I bought it. Another product you can try is called Goo Gone. Both of these leave a greasy residue so you will have to use another cleaner to remove the residue (it leaves floors slippery, I've used them to remove crayon from my floor) but the crayon should come off.
Good Luck!

goo gone does the trick and unfortunately I had to get the good clothes dry cleaned (it worked) and the rest was used as 'old' clothing for gardening or cleaning.

oooh, I had this same thing happen a few months ago. I googled crayon stains and found a solution that worked like a dream. You must wash the clothing, then scrub with Shout and a tooth brush on each stain. Then wash again. Then dab rubbing alcohol on the stains and let dry out. Then wash again. It was a lot of work, so I threw away my Target t-shirts and just worked on my husband's button down shirts. It is only worth the effort for your nice things. I would google crayon stains and get the exact method, but the alcohol is amazing at getting it out. Still, it's a lot of work. Good luck!

I so agree with Kim,solumel will work wonders, without all the grease from goo gone, and all the hard work, and scrubing over and over.Solumel is a safe, non toxic product, works wonders for so many things, and you can use if with your kids around without worry.Did you know liquid dish washing detergent is the leading poison in kids under the age of 6? Would you like a safer, cost effective alternative for your home?

straight TIDE and WD-40. My husband is a chef and we washed a navy blue crayon with one of his white chef coats! this trick may take a few tries but will work.
