I know every baby is different and they reach their milestones at different ages. However, I was just curious and wondering at what month your baby started to crawl. :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! We will see when mine starts to crawl. No rush though I kind of like that he doesn't move around so much yet :)

Crawling is not a milestone, some babies never crawl, or find another way to get around, like scooting or rolling. Walking is a milestone, and my kids were all over the place, at 10, 12, and 15 months. Don't worry about the crawling.

Mine were crawling at 6 mos and walking at 11 mos. They are all different tho. When did you and hubby start? Ask your moms, lots of times the development of your kids is quite similar to yours. Thats why babybooks are so important. My mom gave me mine when I had my first son so I could see the similarities in development. It answers a lot of questions when you see your own history written out.
I encourage all moms to do a babybook for at least the first 3 years of development.

My son didn't crawl until after he was 12 months. He was just totally content hanging out in one area and would figure out different ways to pull toys toward him.

I, of course, was worried. All of my other friend's kids were walking at that point. I just tried not to stress and knew that he would start moving when he was good and ready. When he was ready he combat crawled for a really long time. I don't think he was up on his knees until he was about 14-15 months.

He began talking at around 14 months in full sentences, but didn't walk until he was 22 months. 22 months!!!!

Now he is a normal running, climbing 3 1/2 year old.

I had to learn to stop comparing him to other kids his age.

They are all different. It's not a race.

Peace.

My daughter never crawled. She started scooting on her butt when she was around 9-10 months. My son crawled around 8 months.

Although its nice to hear from other moms, its really best to look up an official source. I find it very hard to believe that a baby was crawling for real at 4 months. The real crawling, that you see babies doing on tv usually happens between 6 and 11 months, if at all. My son crawled at 10 months.

Both mine crawled right at 8 months and they both started walking about 13 months. Crawling is the worst! Hopefully your baby will crawl for a short time and then move on to walking quickly! ;) Don't worry, it will happen!

My DD started crawling at around 5 months, up on her hands and knees but would only get 2-3 'paces', then would give up. She really got the hang of it at 7 months though. Now she's 9 months, and just took her first steps on her own the day before yesterday. :)

1st born - scooted on butt at 8 months, crawled on hands and knees at 10 months
2nd - 8 and 8.5 months (twins)

I'd like to see a baby who crawls at 3 or 4 months! For my first I was really worried about milestones (especially since mine was the only baby scooting on her butt LOL!) but now I have loosened up a bit and realize that early crawlers/walkers do not make for better or more advanced adults.
