CPR And First Aid Training

My husband and I need to get CPR and first aid training. I'm having a hard time finding a class that we can attend. Does anyone know of someone that teaches or a company that can do a private class? I could even get a couple more people to join us if we need to.

What can I do next?

I asked a friend that works at a hospital and she works with a nurse that teaches cpr for a non profit organization and she is going to train us for free.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Try contacting a local fire department. Many firefighters and paramedics are certified to teach and you may be able to find someone willing to do a private class.

I just took a CPR/First Aid class last week from Cindy Lewis at Heartbeat. She is a R.N. and was very, very good. The class was at the Girl Scout building off of Campbell and Preston in Plano. Her number is ###-###-#### and her website is www.heartbeatcpr.net and her website shows the class schedule.

Last time I took the class from Jay and Lynn Abrams at Save A Life in Carrollton. I was also very impressed with them, and was actually trying to find their new number (as it had changed since I took the class two years ago) but found it after I had already signed up with Cindy. Their number is ###-###-####.

I also found out that you can go to the American Heart Association website (www.americanheart.org), click on "CPR & ECC" on the left of the screen, type in your zip code, and then click on what type of CPR you need (Friends & Family or Heartsaver (for childcare & healthcare workers.) This will bring up a list of organizations that teach the Heartsaver CPR/First aid classes nearest you, and have their contact info.

I hope all that helps!

We've taken it through a hospital before. I know the Denton hospitals offer it, as well as Medical Center of Lewisville. You can probable call any nearby hospital.

Contact your local fire department &/or the Red Cross. Fire departments used to provide free CPR training.

I am a daycare provider and am going to a class on one of the last two sundays of the month. The date is not final yet. It will be in Mckinney. The time will be 1:30 - 5:30. It is $40.00 each and we will get certified.
Let me know if you interested.

We do our CPR/First Aid training through Mobile Test. They came out to us, but you have to have at least 5 people. The cost is $25 per person, and your cards are through the American Heart Association. You can talk to Robert Coburn at ###-###-#### to set something up. They do offer some Saturday classes at their facility if you can't get 5 people together.

My dughter teaches. She says that it depends on what you want, as to how much the course is. If you want everything, adult & child cpr and first aid, it is usually $60 per person. This includes a book and DVD.
If you have any questions about it, or want to talk to her about it, her name and number is Annika at ###-###-####.
