Could It Be Bed Bugs???

I'm being bitten by something. I don't think it's bed bugs but I don't know because, my granddaughter and sometimes my daughter sleep in the same bed with me and there are no bites on them. I recently moved and purchased a new bedroom set along with a new mattress, but it's still in the plastic and the bites started before I moved. I have not seen any evidence of them, no dark spots or gray spots. I've even gotten up in the middle of the night and turned on the lights and didn't see anything. Also, the bites are all over my buttocks, thighs, back, sides, torso and a few on my upper arms, not just in a line or clusters as it indicated when I Googled. I mean, I have bites in places where there was clothing and where I didn't think they could get to. The bites look like small pimples with a dot on the top. I have one on my hand in between my fingers, but it looks like it is filled with some kind of liquid. So could this bed bug bites? Or what could it be?

What can I do next?

doesn't sound like bug bites but an allergic reaction since they are all over. Bed bugs are typically concentrated on the feet and lower legs...

Do they go away during the day?

I'd go to my physician and get checked out when I have them. Truly - it sounds like an allergic reaction instead of bed bugs.

To verify NO BUGS?? clean ALL of your bedding - all of it - bedspread/comforter, blanket, pillows, sheets...then put your mattress in one of the allergenic zippered mattress containers - not the plastic that your mattress came in....but a real mattress cover - whole mattress cover...zippered up...

Good luck!!

Bites started before you moved, so I would think not. But not everyone is allergic, so just because your daughter doesn't have bites doesn't mean she isn't being bitten, too.

Are you sure these are bites? There are viruses that can cause bumps like these, and every once in a while, I get random itchy little pimples like that that last for a bit and then go away - stress induced.

This is definitely something to take to a dermatologist.

In the meantime, do not bed share with anyone until you know the cause.

I've had many dermatological issues -- googling them makes no sense because many look the same. Try your best not to scratch - clip your nails or cover with a dressing - and not to put anything on it. See a dermatologist as soon as you can, preferably someone with some experience. It could be many things from bed bugs to an allergy to something else entirely. Good luck -- press the scheduling secretary for an appointment asap. Cool compresses can help an itch without compromising your skin integrity.
