Could I Be Pregnant? - Conroe,TX

I took a pregnancy test today. It was equate brand. There are two options that could happen. One vertical line in each box meaning positive. Or nothing in the first box and a vertical line in the next box. My test had a horizontal line in the first and a vertical in the next box. This wasn't a result option so I'm worried. What could this mean.

What can I do next?

A result like that usually means there was an error. That test is no good, so you have to use another test and try again.

Well you could be pregnant or you could not be pregnant. We don't have that magic answer.

Unprotected sex = potential pregnancy. Birth control is not 100% effective.

Instead of worrying about it and researching online, just go to your Dr and find out for sure.

I can't tell you if you are pregnant, but I can tell you that the only false result I've ever gotten on a pregnancy test was the equate brand (it came back negative…yet, there is this three week old in our home, somehow). I'd try a different brand for clarification.

Wait a few weeks, then pee on a stick first thing in the morning and see what the test says.
If you've had sex you could be pregnant.
But there are LOTS of things that can mess with your period and hormones and have nothing to do with pregnancy.
Just wait and test again.
If your period stays missing then make a doctors appointment and see what they have to say.

How old is that pregnancy test? The 2 vertical line Equate tests are an old style from a few years ago.

The current Equate brand tests show a vertical | control line, and either a + for pregnant or a horizontal line - for not pregnant.

What's the date on the box? If it's out of date, get a current test.

Re-read the directions. Use first morning's urine.

Look up Equate online and read their FAQ's if you don't want to buy another brand.
