Hi all you wonderful Mom's out there. I need some help. I am not a big cook, in fact my husband does most of the cooking (I am really lucky), but now since our daughter is 11 months old I really need to find some easy recipes that she could enjoy as well. She loves to eat and will eat just about anything. She likes her baby food, but I think she has gotten tired of the same foods. There aren't that many to choose from at the store. She has tried them all. She is now eating 3rd foods and eats mostly anything that we do. Any ideas?

Try not to feed your baby processed foods.
Give lightly steamed veggies, fruit, proteins, cheeses and dairy, grains.
Go ahead and feed her whatever you eat. Its a good excuse for the whole family to eat healthy. There is no reason to train her pallette on "kid food". Whatever you feed her now is going to be her comfort food later. In the future you want her grabbing for fruit instead of processed foods etc.
Try:
edamame
cottage cheese
steamed carrots
baked chicken
celery with different topping like cream cheese or peanut butter
whole grain crackers with string cheese
bulgar wheat(cooked just like rice) mixed with chopped veggies
fruit
pasta(whole grain)

By the time my kids were around that age they were just eating with us so my suggestion would be just feed her whatever you guys eat. Unless yall are eating something spicy in that case fix her something simple like a grilled cheese or chicken nuggets or even steam some veggies.

Feed her the same things you eat. Still stick with the softer things like veggies and fruits and pasta etc but try a little meat like chicken breast cut into really small cubes, cheese cubes, yogurt if she doesn't already eat it, you'll get a pretty good idea right away if she doesn't like the texture of something but keep trying it. What a lot of books don't tell you is that little ones have to try things up to something like 10 or more times before they know for sure if they do or don't like it.

Just keep letting her try what you have. I found that mine didn't really like protein till recently (16 mos), but he loves cheese, pasta, rice, peas, tomatoes, things like that. He even likes the burrito fillings from chipotle :) The baby size stews are yummy to my little guy also. And he likes county fair corn dogs - I only get them once in a while and cut them into small bites for him. Good luck!

Try www.wholesomebabyfood.com - They have really healthy, nutritious, and easy recipes for babies on up through toddlers. I have made all of my daughter's food and have used mainly that site to do it!
I agree with other responses to steam vegetables, cut up fresh fruits, bake sweet potatoes, butternut squash, etc. Egg yolks are really good, too (I hard boil an egg and take the yolk out for her, I eat the white!) Whole milk Yogurt, cottage cheese, Quinoa, Bulgur, Brown Rice, all of those things are great for babies nutritionally and taste-wise!
I stay away from Gerber Puffs and their packaged foods - I think fresh is best!

Hi Kiki,
I didnt get a chance to read the below responses, but my 11 month old has been eating whatever we eat.... he never liked babyfood from the store so I never gave him any. Starting 8/9months I've been giving him toddler graduate food... and he luvs them. I'm sure Your lil one will enjoy that and the adult food. (I mush it b4 giving it any food) Also, I heard the viena sausages(chicken, beef turkey) were one of the biggest choking hazardous food) so if u ecide to give that, please be sure to cut it into smaller cubes. Good luck!!

Try giving her what you and your husband are having. Just cut it up into small bites. Or you can boil a chicken breast and make rice or sweet potatoes in the microwave cut up into cubes for easy finger food that is not breaded and deep fried. A bag of frozen mixed veggies is good finger food too (cooked carrots, peas, corn and green beans). They are easy to prepare in the microwave in small servings and she can pick it up with her fingers to eat it. good luck

My son was (and is) an awesome eater! We started feeding him table foods fairly early, b/c he wouldn't eat the jar foods anymore. He eats almost everything we do (except real spicy foods). I also like the Gerber graduates meals that are in the baby food section. They have a toddler size portion of a main course and 1 vegetable, perfect for when we eat dinner later than my son's dinner time, or if we're on the go. I don't use them often, just occasionally. Here are some things that my son eats:
grilled cheese
toast
vienna sausages
all fruits & veggies
chicken & pork
spagetti, & pasta of any kind
chicken nuggets
steak fingers
fish sticks
mac n cheese
raviolli
spagetti-o's
and pretty much anything else we put in front of him. Hope that helps!

HI Kiki! Try this website... www.wholesomebabyfoods.com

Go to the section of finger foods... lots of fun stuff on there and they have meals that you can make as well.

I really like buying veggie burgers and cutting them up in bite size pieces. We also buy frozen peas, green beans, etc. and pop them in the microwave and cut up for her to eat. Basically whatever we eat, I just try to give to her since we eat very healthy ourselves. There is a great recipe for tofu fingers on this website... so good for your baby and you if you try them!

Make it easy on yourself and get her used to eating what you're eating. I made something different for my son that I thought he would enjoy when he was a baby and now that he is 4, he never wants what we're eating.
