Convertible Car Seats
Any suggestions on a convertible car seat? I have heard that the Britax Boulevard is a good one.....thanks!
So What Happened?™
I think we are going to purchase the Britax Boulevard - I have heard nothing but positive things about this product. I really want to thank everyone for all of their input!

I have the Britax Boulevard and I love it. I feel jealous of my son sometimes because he looks so comfy sleeping in there- it's like his own little lounge chair! And supposedly it has great safety ratings from Consumer Reports- my husband did the research, but I trust him. ;0)

the Britax is wonderful
my 4 yr old is still in his & will be for some time
it is important to keep these little peole in 5 point harnesses for as long as possible
it is also very important to keep them rear-facing for as long as the seat requirements allow you to. many people think that babies SHOULD be turned around to be forward facing when they are a year and 20lbs. this is not true. they do not HAVE to turn around if your seat can keep them rear-facing (britax allows rear facing up until 33lbs and my son was rear-facing until he was 2 & 1/2)
Why rear-facing is so important: http://www.carsafety.org/rearface.html

go to the consumer reports website and it will give you the safety ratings on them. It costs 5.95 (if I remember correctly) for 1 month. I just purchased one for my second vehicle today and I have the CR ratings. Evenflo Titan Deluxe scored 83 (if you can still find it-I have this one and today I bought the Evenflo Titan Elite which is the new version it just came out this month so you can only buy it online right now). Evenflo Triumph 5 and the Britax Roundabout scored 81 pts. These were the highest scores. I hope this helps.
P.S. Evenflo Titan score was from around December, but all other scores were printed today so they are very current.

I have the Graco and I love it. My OBGYN told me she had the Britax and she liked it alot better than the Graco.

Hi, we have a Britax, it is our second car seat and much more expensive, but so much better!! We've had it for over a year and I've washed the cover 3 times at least and it still looks wonderful! Really cushy and good quality I feel. Good luck!

The whole Britax line is wonderful. I had the infant carrier and I loved it. I learned some interesting information that may be useful to you but, it depends how old your daughter is. My daughter was seven months when I switched car seats. The owner of a USA Baby near our home said that he steers people away from the boulevard unless they are new babies or have physical challenges. He said that as the children get older they hate the neck support and it can't be removed. He also said that the only difference between the decathalon and the marathon is the padding. Because my daugther is already 20lbs, he said we would have to remove that soon. So, I bought the Marathon and love it. He could have sold us the more expensive one but he didn't.
Hope this helps! Whatever you decide the line is great!

I have the Britax Marathon for my 16 month old, and I plan to buy the Britax Decathalon or Boulevard for my next child (due in a couple months). I have absolutely LOVED my Britax. It is well worth every penny! It's also easy to pull off the cover and wash (My daughter gets car sick so I do this a lot).
We went to Oklahoma to visit family a couple of months ago, and we rented a car seat from the car rental company. It was a Graco. There was nothing wrong with it per se, but it wasn't as user friendly (install or getting baby in and out of) as my Britax. I understand now why my seat costs so much more than the Graco at the store.
All seats have to pass the same federal safety standards, so they are all safe. It's really just a matter of how user friendly they are and how "pretty" they are (if you are into that type of thing like I am). Anyway, my point is, go with the Britax. You won't be sorry!
