Constant Migraine Headaches

I was wondering if someone can advice. Lately, I have been having a lot of quite severe migraine headaches ( feeling nauseous, sensitivity to light etc.) Sometimes it happens up to four times a week, especially before period. Over the counter pills are not much of a help. I also was prescribed zomig but it does weird things to me. Has anyone tried something else like natural medicine? Or does anyone know of a good doctor that deals with migraine headaches? I am tired of it and ready to do something about it.

What can I do next?

Hi K.,

I was having terrible hormonal headaches, too. I didn't want to take a bunch of drugs, so I tried acupuncture. I've been going once a month for five months, and I don't get headaches at all anymore. I feel so much better overall, too - I don't think I realized how much the headaches were wearing me out. My doctor is in Tampa - let me know if you're interested in more details or her contact information.

Hope you feel better,
J.

I am not sure where you are located, but the PCM I have David Hicks in Palm Harbour has done a lot of work with migraines and he put me on topamax, which seems to be working well. The # to the office is ###-###-####. Warning the wait is usually aweful if you don't get the 1st appt available, but he did help with my migraines and I've had them constantly for 14 years. Good luck & hope it helps.

Boy, do I feel your pain! I see Dr. Carman Wilson at Tampa General's Headache and Pain Management Center. She is awesome, but I am not sure she is taking new patients. She may have an associate you can see. I was put on a daily medication called Topamax to help with mine. It is the only thing that has helped in the last five years and countless prescriptions.

Good luck,
Danielle

K.,

My husband, used to suffer from migraines. Like yours, they just seemed to get worse as time went on. He started seeing a chiropractor and has not suffered from a migraine in 2 years.

Migraines are mainly caused by misalignments in the spine which puts pressure on nerves in your spinal column. I'm not a doctor of any kind but if I had to guess, I would not be surprised if your labor with your daughter put you out of alignment.

Anyway, we have had great success with chiropractic. I used to get really bad cramps in my left foot. When I was pregnant with our 2nd child. I had such pain in one of my feet that I was actually 6 months pregnant and on crutches because I could not walk. I saw a podiatrist and they want to give me cortisone shots in my foot. My midwife referred me to a chiropractor. I have had no pain in that foot since. When I do start to feel pain, I get an adjustment and it's gone.

We so believe in chiropractic for anything from a common cold to major health issues. My husband and I and our 3 kids go every week. My youngest has been getting adjusted since she was 3 days old.

Anyway, I don't know where you live, but I would highly recommend our chiropractor - Dr. Dan Durrieu. He's on Waters Ave. in Tampa. If you can't see him, maybe he could recommend someone in your area. You need a good one, and he's great. He has 3 kids of his own. He adjusts kids for free when the parent gets adjusted. I totally trust him. Obviously, I let him adjust my babies.
His number is ###-###-####. He has an afordable plan for everyone. I really think he can help you totally naturally!!

Hope that helps. Let me know how it goes.
