We are thinking of taking a vacation this summer to Cocoa Beach, Florida. Has anyone gone there and if so, where is a good place to stay? We would like a condo if possible so we don't have to eat out every meal. Thanks for your help!

Good morning, I've never been to Cocoa Beach, but I do know there is a web site http://www.vrbo.com/, it's vacation rentals by owner. My best friend and her family use that site when they go skiing and they've always had wonderful stories about the places and experience. When we go to Cozumel we're supposed to stay in one she found through that site. Have fun!

Hi K.,

I used to live in Orlando for five years prior to coming to Texas so we made many trips to the Atlantic side of FL for beach days. The Cocoa Beach/Melbourne area you are asking about is pleasant but not nearly as beautiful as the gulf side (Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Destin, Panama City etc). Melbourne and Cocoa beaches have brown sand and more often than not have tons of unsightly seawead mixed all through the sand and in the water. I know your question was about condos, I don't specifically have one to recommend because we lived so close we could just make day trips although we did stay in hotels a couple of times. Just thought I'd share my opinion about the beaches themselves. If I had the choice, I'd definitely choose to stay on the western side of FL at one of the gulf coast beaches. Have fun!

I lived in Cocoa Beach. It is very pretty there. Lots to do. Very centralized so you can go just about anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. I would actually look into Satellite Beach just a few miles down the road. It is more updated and modern. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I still have family out there. I know I surely miss it.

I've only stayed with family down there, but I know of an AWESOME website to help you find your condo. I am the same when I travel... I want a condo, not a hotel! www.VRBO.com Check it out.

My husband and I visited Cocoa Beach some years ago and it was pretty nice. I remember the water being very rough. We're going to Destin this summer, and we're renting from a company who Florida homeowners support. The website is called easystreetrentals.com, and you might check them out to see if they have condos in Cocoa Beach. Have a great trip! S.

Go to vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). They have properties for rent all over and they include condos, hotels, houses for rent. We have used before for rentals and it is very reputable and secure. Take care!
