Hi J.,
Could be an allergy or eczema, or anything else. You should take the baby to the doctor, who can tell you exactly what it is and perhaps offer something for relief. Good luck

SOme kind of reaction to something he is coming into contact with that he has a sensitivity or allergy too something in the environment, his food source (if breastfeeding could be something you are eating or drinking) or other reaction to a skin care or cleansing product. Could be from a clothing detergent or cleanser could be possibly from furniture.
It could be from any number of things- not to frustrate you on this. I myself resorted to the most pure form of cleansers/ without any irritating chemicals - it is sometimes more costly but not that much more. If you can buy Burt's Bees for babies or California Babies products at health food stores, fragrance free you will do pretty well. I know of a soap that helped my son w/ similar sensitivity reactions which he had to everything else. You can ask a True Value Hardware Store to order it it is called Grandma's Lye Soap. YOu can also order it online but then you have shipping costs when they do supply True Value stores if requested. Laundry detergent I got was 7th generation.
I also got special bedding w/o any

Hi J.,

Roseola rash usually comes after a high fever for a few days. I am thinking more of a food allergy or eczema. I am not sure if you are doing solids yet, or he cold have developed an intolerance to his formula. I would check with the doc. I am sure you know if you are doing solids to repeat the same food for at least 3 days so you can detect any reactions. Usually skin rashes if not viral are related to food intolerance. Good luck!!

Hi J.
Under a year you should call the MD for everything, but to ease you mind it sounds like at tactile allergy, although it could be food it is more likely that the detergent you are using on the sheets is too harsh. Are you rinsing twice? Have you tried adding vinegar to the water to make sure all the detergent is out? I had to use the All free of everything, and of course no dryer sheets or anything.
God bless you with a solution to the problem.

FOOD ALLERGY!! No matter if it's eczema or whatever, it's a reaction to food. Aquaphore is good at soothing it, but you want to try to eliminate the source.

Dear J., Some babies have skin issues just because they are new. I think you should check with your baby's doctor about this. He may need some cream to stop the itching. Good wishes, Grandma Mary

Hi, my son (now 7) did the same thing as an infant. He always looked like he had a sunburn and was constantly scratching at his cheeks. First, we would put him to bed with mittins (the kind that the infants wear in the hospital), to keep him from scratching.I also bought "Eczema Care" from Walgreens. It worked instantly and I have recommended it to many others.
