hello all,
i am on a the birth conrtol pill Loestrin24Fe, this pill you take for 24 days then you take your 4 pills for your menstral cycle. I have been taking them on time and every day.
-------week one took them
-------week two took them except on day 2 (monday) my body decided to get my menstralcycle early. the dr said that it was breakthrough bleeding but this happens every so oftern with my body and the pills. my period is so heavy that it cannot wait until week 4 of the pills and i get my period anyways. the dr said to keep taking my pills and take them like noraml. Except me and my fiance have decided to try for another child. (i want a girl and have everything marked out for the shttles method and im scared this will screweverything up.) I am uncertain if i should get another pack of pills and wait a month to get my body on track or if i should try to do it this month. i am so anxious to give my 2.5 year old a little sibling. Please help with your advice on if this will screw up my getting pregnant plans or not. .

edit** when i talked to my dr she said to finish the pack of pills that im on and try for baby #2. She also said she did not want to hear from me until i was pregnant. i am also fertilemyrtle so i think i will get pregnant right away. Also i am supposed to be worried if while on week #4 of pills that i dont get a period?

What can I do next?

No use in continuing the pill, I would stop the pill and WAIT for my body to "flush" it out and get back to normal, (one or two months) then start trying. I'm on the exact same pill LoestrinFe 24 and I read the little instruction of use packett and it says that it may cause birth defects and to discontinue inmediately if pregnant. so I would really recommend you to wait a bit after you stop taking it. that's what I'm going to do anyways since we will start trying for #3 next year. sorry for the lecture but just wanted to give my honest opinion,
Good luck!

I was on Loestrin24Fe too...and I did basically the same thing that you did. I took the first 11 pills and then forgot them when I went on vacation. I didn't continue taking the pill, my hubby and I just said - if we get preggo then so be it. Well, I did get preggo (I'm fertilemyrtle as well).

What happened to me was I ovulated 2 weeks later than I should have (which makes sense as I took about 2 weeks worth of pills). So, when I was supposed to have my period it didn't come. After 2 weeks of being late and tons of pregnancy tests, one day the test came back positive.

If you don't take any more pills in this cycle, I wouldn't expect to get your period in week #4 as you confused your body, even if you aren't pregnant.

I say just stop taking the pill if you want to have another baby. Have fun this month, and if you get your period then you can count the days and make sure you go for it on the fertile days! Good luck

Since your anxious to try for baby discontinue use or finish the pack you have let your body regain normal cylces in the mean time use a nonhormonal BC options condoms,VCF,Foam, doesn't seem that compicated to me..

I think either way your body is going to have to readjust getting off the pill. I say stop taking pill now and allow your body one month regulate itself without the pill messing with it.

Good luck!

Good luck with the Shettles method but don't bank on it completely!

If you're wanting to be hard core about getting pregnant and attempting to conceive a certain gender, then you'll need to wait until your period gets all settled down and figured out. If your doctor said to keep taking the pills - keep taking the pills until you finish the pack! When you are on birth control it is the hormone drugs that regulate your cycle and not your pituitary gland. During the days when you're not taking the active pills, this is known as a progesterone withdrawal and your brain notes the drop in the progesterone levels and signals the uterus to shed its lining. Because LoEstrin is such a low dose pill, it is absolutely essential that you take the pill at the same exact time every day or your cycle will get messed up. Please also understand that you could conceive right away or it might take a few months for your pituitary gland to do the work that the pills did, and you may not be able to conceive the next cycle after stopping the pill.

At this point you may have to decide what you want more - a sibling for your child or waiting to get what you want, which you might not get any way.
