I've used 3 independent and 1 larger company for PC repair in the past (not the Geek Squad as I am boycotting Best Buy), and by far, Specialty Services Unlimited was the very best I personally have used. It is owned by two brothers, Tim and Jeff Black, and they were able to fix my PC when others could not. I have used them now since 2006 and do not plan to use anyone else. If you have a phone book, I believe their ad says they will do a free diagnostic for first time customers. I know it used to anyway. They used to have their shop based out of Fort Worth, but the last time I talked to them, I think they moved their home base to a home office since they do almost all of their work out in the field. You are best off going to the phone book or www.yellowbook.com. Geek squad charges way too much and they do not have any more training or experience than the local guys.

I work in a law office and we use Jim LeRoy who was the I.T. guy for the law firm upstairs on the 3rd floor. Becuz of budget cuts they had to lay him off, but he is an older guy who also owns a restaurant and a bookeeping business.He works out of his home, or will come to you also. His rates are VERY reasonable. All the Attorneys in our law office continue to use him to this day. He is very intelligent man.
