Comparisons of Different Diet/food Plans - Which Plan Is Best-received
I'm comparing the different diet plans out there - NutriSystems vs. MediFast vs. Jenny Craig and/or others available. I'm looking for comments/advice/direction regarding taste, convenience, etc.

L.,
While I do not have the need for any of these food plans, I am in direct contact with people who use them. I have heard the best response from Jenny Craig and a good exercise program if you can. Drink LOTS of water. The people I know who have used NutriSystem where happy for a short while then got tired of the food. I have not heard of MediFast.
Good luck!

I wouldn't recommend Jenny Craig. Although JC is a tasteful way to go and seems to be like a great step forward, the promises the staff make they do not stick to.
I was a Jenny Craig customer because i wanted to shed those unwanted pounds from pregnancy. They promised that they'd stick with me, and never did. I ran into some financial situations and couldn't make it in to get the food they make you pay for, for a couple of weeks. I couldn't come in, and they dropped me. I called to ask for an extenstion but they denied. My contract with them ended in January. They never called to see if i wanted to continue then. They called me LAST WEEK to tell that my contract expired in Jan and if I wanted to renew it. 4 months after the fact.
It is ultimately your decision, i just hope this little bit of info helps.
Good luck!

My Aunt (just turned 50) is on NutriSystem, loves it! Has lost 27 pounds in 3 months. Is never hungry and gets snacks like chocolate & chips. Also, they have given her a plan on how to transition into eating on your own and going to restaurants.
You only have one body, how you treat it is how it's going to treat you. Great job making the step to a healthy life!

I have been on both Nutri System and Jenny Craig (I'm on Jenny Craig right now). Both actually work great if you stick to it! Not familiar with MediFast. You will probably get really tired of eating only their food after about 5 weeks. I started making soups and adding many low fat items from the store, ie, asparagus, cabbage, onions. This helps.
Get ready to eat lots of fruits also. I have lost 13.8 pounds in 5 weeks on Jenny Craig.

I spent many years in the market research field, mostly conducting research with physicians. Once during a study on weight control I asked, on my own, just which plan the doctors felt was the bast. Independently, all said Weight Watchers first and Genny Craig second.

I've done medifast and it was great if you can shell out $200 mo and continue it for the rest of your life. What works great is Quick Weight Loss or La Weight Loss. They show you how to cook and how much food you need to eat I lost 64 pounds @ LA Weight Loss it took 8months. the same foods you bye in the store are the foods that you eat to loss weight.

I like Weight Watchers because it is something you can incorporate in to real life. I have a friend who was on Nutrisystem, and she said after a while, she thought all the food tasted the same, and actually referred to it as "dogfood" for people. I havn't tried it myself so she may just be a particular person but thought I would pass that on (I think it is the prepackaged part, nothing is fresh). I think I've also seen statistics that people who lose weight on Weight Watchers are more likely to keep it off than people on Nutrisystem, etc. because when you go back to real food on those programs, you tend to gain the weight back, whereas on WW, you learn portion control and can do that no matter what you eat.
Good luck!

I'm a big fan of the weight watcher program and have lost weight successfully on it before. I just had my first baby and am back on the program to get rid of the baby weight.
