Comfy Mattress for Graco Pack N' Play
Hi. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I can't seem to find any replacement mattress that fits the Graco pack n' play. They are mostly 24x38. But the Graco is a bit wider at 26-27"w. Has anyone found anything besides the expensive organic ones? I'm like the idea of the organic since he has an organic crib mattress. But I can't justify the price since he just takes the occasional nap in the pack n' play. Thanks!

I would not trust ANY mattress but one from that company. Try calling Graco and seeing what they can do for you. But chances are if you need a replacement mattress it's time to buy a whole new pack and play. That's probably cheaper then a new mattress.
And please do NOT put a different mattress in there. It is a suffocation hazard and it is NOT SAFE. I have read stories of this being done and kids dying.

Hi - my daughter slept in on eon weekends at our cottage. She was picky and the "crackling" of the mattress would wake her up when she moved around. We called her Princess and the Pea I used to fold up a big comforter and she slept very soundly on that. Probably not safe for a newborn, but it worked for us til she was 18mos old and could pole vault out of the pack n play.

Call Graco and order one. You will need the model/serial number that is on the bottom on the middle support leg. They are $27.95. Depending on how old your Pack and Play is, the pattern might be different, though.
We had to do this recently because our daughter got too heavy for the bassinet (we didn't realize it at the time) and actually bent the boards. When we tried moving it down to the normal position, the mattress wouldn't lay flat.
I tried asking at Buy Buy Baby if there was such a thing as a comfy PNP mattress and they told me no - that it would be dangerous to use anything other than the mattress it came with.

Try just buying a whole new (well, used) Pack n Play from either Craigslist or a resale store like Once Upon a Child. You can probably get a whole unit second-hand cheaper than buying a new replacement mattress from Graco. In the summer, I see Graco Pack n Plays for sale at lots of Garage sales for around $20.
Just watch out, because Graco does make 2-3 different sizes of Pack n Play. Make sure you buy the larger one, or your kid will out grow it before he's two.

Pack and Plays are one of those products that you should not do your own thing with, otherwise you compromise saftey. Contact Graco if you need any replacement components. Yes, the mattress woul seem rather thin/hard to us, but to your baby it's probably no big deal!

If you need a new mattress i would either buy a whold new on or contact graco like everyone else says. If you are just looking for it to be more comfortable because i know they aren't, i bought at Babies R Us a quilted pack and play mattress cover. Not just the thin cover. It's quilted which makes it feel like your baby is lying ona cloud. And it's safe. My son would never sleep on the hard sheet but as soon as i put on the quilted one, he never had a problem. Just an idea

Do you have to replace the mattress or are you looking to make it more comfortable? You could try contacting Graco (www.gracobaby.com is the site) if you need to replace. Or if you are looking to add a little padding, you can go to a place like Hanover Fabrics, Joanne's might also have it, and purchase 2 yards of 1-inch think foam and then put it under the pad. It is not too think to prevent correct insertion of the pad itself and lets you velcro the pad in correctly. Of course, you could also look on Craigslist and see if anyone is selling a pack and play, or giving one away.
