Clothes Spots Stain Removal - What Works???

Something I use that works really well is Zout. It works especially well on red/brown stains and greasy stains. You put a little on the stain, agitate it (with toothbrush, fingernail - whatever) then wash. It can sometimes be hard to find, but I have found it at Walmart and Walgreens.
Don't get the spray, get the gel. The spray doesn't work as well for some reason.

A scoop of Oxyclean in the wash. If you still have a stain, put the item in a bucket of cold water with a little Oxyclean and let it soak overnight. Rewash after soaking.

If you have a greasy stain (say like grease from french fries) spray a little bit of Greased Lightning on the stain and work it in with an old toothbrush. Wash item with an added scoop of Oxyclean for good measure.

FYI- Greased Lightning is awesome. I accidently washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry. I thought I was looking at throwing it all in the trash. The Greased Lightning actually took every single bit of lipstick out.

Spray n wash always has worked for me. Sometimes what I have to do is if the stain doesn't come out the first time then i respray the stain and then rewash it and it usually comes out.

I use Oxiclean as well...it seems to be able to handle everying my 21 month old can create.

I make up my own pre-treating "recipes" from a mix of products with Melaleuca, and the mixture works really great! Plus, if you will put your *new* clothes in the mixture BEFORE wearing them the 1st time, the products make a "stain repellant", and stains just don't "set in"...

I have a very active little boy who will be 3 in just a few weeks, and he has really challenged me on stain removal at times!! :)

I love using the products because they are SAFER to use, and to have in our homes....I have a very strong history of cancer throughout my family, so I was absolutely looking for ways to reduce my family's risk!

Equal parts mixed in a spray bottle:
water
ammonia
liquid tide or cheer
white vinegar

Will take the rust off a bumper. If it doesn't get it out the first wash, spray and let sit until your next wash day.

I had the same problem and I was recommended Dawn dishwashing liquid (the original blue). I put a bit on the spot and rub it in with a toothbrush. I have even got it to work on old, dried stains! Good luck!
