Clothes Needed

I need help from anyone that is willing to give it. I have 2 boys age 10 & 21 months. Our Christmas this year is going to be next to nothing. Besides what the boys get from an Aunt they are getting 2 things a piece from their father & I. I would like for them to have clothes under the tree. I am in need of size 10 boys & 24 months boys clothes. If you by chance have any that you are willing to part with at no cost or a very minimal fee I would be very appreciative. My husband's job has had to cut back on all his overtime, which is usually what we buy Christmas with, therefore, we have only been able to buy a pair of shoes, some socks, and an outfit for the youngest & socks, underwear, & 2 pair of jeans for the oldest. His school normally has a strict policy to holes in the jeans & most of his are very holey. We don't have any family, so the only presents they get are from us & a very good friend that happens to be their "Aunt." I am unable to buy any toys for them & don't know how I'm gonna explain that to my oldest. I feel so bad that my children aren't getting more this year & we have tried to get on a few of the lists for help but were too late. Please let me know if you can help out at all. I appreciate anything that anyone does to help. Thank you very much & God Bless everyone this Christmas season.

We had similar Christmases when we were little b/c my dad had Leukemia. We always focused on the other side of Christmas and not so much on the gifts. We made cookies and went caroling to our neighbors or nursing homes. It was very humbling seeing how little we had, and then meeting others with less. Your 10 year old could learn a lot from these experiances, they truly bond families closer together. For help with food, look at the post I did earlier about "being poor... and a little pick me up". It will truly help you. Currently, my husband and I get one small gift for each other and about 2 for our son. He is only 10 months, but your kids understanding may surprise you. God Bless

I wish I could help more! I only have girls so I don't have any boy clothes to give. But I agree with Lisa's response, Christmas isn't all about the presents, it's about love and the spirit of the season. It can put a very different perspective on things for the kids. Most kids are very compassionate by nature and will want to help others.

Also, you might want to think about making some gifts. You can search the internet for all sorts of crafts or ideas. And you can get your oldest in on making gifts for other family members. Family Fun Magazine's website is a great resource for those ideas.

And I know it wouldn't help much for this Christmas, but maybe to start planning for next Christmas, have you considered becoming a consultant for a scrapbook company? I noticed that you are a scrapbooker and are looking for ways to make extra money. I'm a consultant for a scrapbook company and I love it! You could make a little extra money for the extras like Christmas and such, or at the very least, get a discount on your own supplies. Just a thought!

Hi Kristi,
Go to www.freecycle.org and sign up for the city you live in. Here is a direct link for anyone who lives in Burleson/Crowley http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Crowley-BurlesonFreecycle/ This is a group where people list things they no longer want so that it will go to someone who needs it. Everything is free. You can also post a want. Just read the group rules. Some groups require only one want a week and only posting the same want once a month. Others require you to offer something before posting a want. Here are some other great site for us moms out there. However these sites you purchase things for cheap. All the sites are free to join.
