Clothes for 5'4" 11 Yr Girl
I need ideas about places to find cute clothes for my daughter. She's 11 yrs old, but 5'4" and a little overweight. She loves the clothes at Limited Too and Justice, but the tops are all too short and/or skinny. When we go to jr's clothes (Limited, Wet Seal, Gap, etc) the clothes tend to be too skinny and if they're not too skinny, they're too busty, or they're not age-appropriate. She's a girly-girl and doesn't care to wear "grown up" fashions. We have tried all over the mall and no luck, as well as Kohl's, Target, Walmart, Macy's, Dillards.... We can't even find decent t-shirts for her; even they seem to be too tight or have inappropriate sayings that she doesn't like. Help! We live in Plano but I'm willing to drive.

Hi M., Another place you might try is Sears. They carry LL Bean Merchandise. Their stuff has no writing on it and the clothing is usually a little more generous in their cuts. Another good place is Land's End. You can also order from them and have no problems returning the merchandise. The clothes styles are classic. I hope this helps. Nana

Old Navy is a good choice. And Mervyns has a plus youth section all on it's own.

I know how she feels i was the same way all my life and still have problems now and i also a 10yr old neice with problems.Have you tried like old navy fashion bug or catos or wal-mart jcpennys also sometimes resale shops are great also if you can find a good one stuff like that or that have plus sized girls cloths.Good luck!!!

You should try RUE 21 in the Allen outlet mall. They have trendy clothes that are not too "skinny". My neice is the same and when she came up here we got her tshirts there and at Vanity in collin creek mall. Hope this helps!! Merry Christmas!!

I have a niece in the same situation as your daughter. She is also 11 yrs old and a bit on the overweight side. My Mom, bought some clothes for her at BELK her in McKinney, they seemed to have some plus sizes for girls, and we noticed some blue jeans at KID to KID(resale shop)in the plus sizes as well. There is also a JUSTICE for girls in McKinney in the Eldorado Plaza, that might have something. Hope this helps.
