Cleaning the Crud off of Stove Burners

Any good tips for cleaning off the black junk from around stove burners? Apparantly, I have let the pots boil over way too many times without giving things a good clean afterward, because the stuff around my electric stove burners is just plain nasty. Please send me your tried-and-true advice...my kitchen is becoming downright embarassing! Thanks!!!

If you can find it, Dawn Power Desolve does the trick for me. I have had a hard time finding it recently, but a few spritzes, 10 minutes of wait time, and rinse or wipe down, and everything looks brand new.

I clean my stove with baking soda and water. I make the baking soda into a paste then I apply it on the stove and wipe off with a rag. works great.

I use simple green. It's safe to use around food prep areas and it's a de-greaser. I also wrap my burners in tin foil to help keep them cleaner, I just change the tin foil when it starts to get too gross.

Make a paste of water and baking soda and a little vinegar. Spread it on the gunk and let it sit for awhile, then wipe it off with a wet sponge or rag. This is great for cleaning the inside of the oven too.

Just use easy off, spray it on and let it sit for awhile. I usually will spray them and then go do other workand come back. It works great.

Soft-Scrub worked well for me. With an abrasive pad. But yes, if the silvery burner things are caked with crud, they're cheap and at most grocery stores.

Here's what I did when I made those burners sticky:) ..picked a time where I won't use the stove for few hours , sprayed clorox and let it soak well for atleast an hour more the better then slowly scrubbed with a metal scrunchie be careful don't rubdown to hard else you will scratch the surface. You can use some dishwashing liquid while scrubbing. If too much grease u might have to repeat this seveal times.
I hope this helps
I hear the magic eraser does a good Job too

Try getting a product called "Bar Keepers Friend" it's fabulous and works on almost any surface. You won't be dissapointed.

If you are referring to the "spill pans" beneath the burners, if they are too far gone, just buy replacements at the hardware store and throw the old ones away. You can line the new ones with foil and easily toss the foil liner when you have spills. Easy Off also works great on the stove top. It's not just for inside the oven anymore. lol

Make a paste of baking soda and water and put it on the crusty junk and let it soak. Make sure the baking soda stays wet. When the crust is soft, scrape/scrub it off. You might have to do it multiple times to get it all off.

Try Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. You can also cover them with foil or buy replacements...

I have great results with a steamer. My husband does it for me. It looks new again. He uses a cloth covered brush and a little elbow grease and it comes out great.

good old baking soda works wonders. Srinkle it on and take a wet cloth and scrub away.

I should also mention that this product is natural and very inexpensive. You proabaly already have it in your cabinets. It does not have any harsh chemicals like clorox and oven cleaners. There is no odor. In fact it eliminates odors too!!! Your family wins and the environment wins! Not to mention your stove will love sparkeling clean.

Oven cleaner - like Easy Off. Be sure to let it sit for a couple of hours before cleaning it off. Do a second round if you need to. Worked great for me!

If they're that bad just buy new ones at the hardware store. They're $2-3 a piece. Then net time, but a ceramic stove :) Cleans up with a razor blade!
