Cleaning Spit-Up

Are there any moms out there who have had to clean their furniture from spit-up. We had a catastrophe this morning and I would like to clean it properly the first time so I do not make it worse. Any suggestions would be great if they have worked for you, Thanks.

PETZYME has worked for us on sofa and outfits- scrub - let sit- rinse- work out again.. the part of it that breaks down the proteins from pet urine also break down the proteins in milk- breast or formula.. just play with it and see if it works for you like it did for us... great on those yellow collar spit up marks that are so stubborn --
TRY IT!? I think you have to buy at a pet store.

Go to Target or Walmart, and get a Bissel Little Green it's a little-ish carpet shampooer that you can also use on furniture. I use it to get spit-up, food, and pee off my carpet and furniture. It's the best $100 I ever spent! Also get a little hand held vacuum like a cone or a curve. I promise it will save you a lot of time digging out the big vacuum to get up a little patch of crumbs. I use it daily b/c of my almost 3 yr old!

I had a baby that spit up all the time. Baby wipes are amazing. They got spit up off of our furniture and carpet, off of our car seats and carpet, off of our friends furniture and carpet, and off of our churches furniture and carpet. There are not any stains or smell left as evidence.

not sure what type of fabrick we are dealing with but have you looked to see if you can un zip them? if so we wash ours in the laundary machiene. also use oxy(sp?) clean. it works on tons of things. use it on the parts you cannot unzip like arm rests...just mix up a bowl and take a rag to it.

Good Morning M.,
I use the spray bottle of Oxy Clean stain remover. You can find it on the laundry detergent isle at Walmart in a dark blue bottle beside the Shout & Spray & Wash. It's great! I use it on my carpet, my furniture, My car interior & on all my kids stained clothes before I wash them.
Just spray it on rather heavy & wipe up with a rag, then spray again heavy again, rub it in & let set it in a little, then wipe it up good(doesn't matter if it's damp or dry)
I hope this works for you, it works great for me & I have twin 5 yr olds & a 21 month old, that Im always having to clean stains (or throw -up) and this is what i use.

M.,

A couple of years ago I bought a "magic cloth" from a lady at a craft show. I was a vendor next to her booth and I kept watching her pour barbecue sauce on a carpet and completely remove the sauce using this cloth. After a few hours I asked her if I could see what type of cleaner was in the bottle. She had told me it was water, but I didn't believe it. I even tasted it! She asked if I wanted to buy one and I told her about this stain on the roof of my car. It was from a juice box that squirted out on a trip. The stain was 3 years old and I told her if she could get the stain out, I would buy the cloth. It took it out after a few minutes of scrubbing, so I bought the cloth. This thing gets out everything! Ink, spit up, greasy handprints, marker, crayon, black spots from outside etc. comes out of carpet and furniture with this cloth. It is amazing. The lady unfortunately never answered my e-mails about wanting other products, but I know you can buy it at norwex.com. There are imitations in the stores, but they don't work. All you do to wash it is use a tiny bit of laundry saop in the washer and dry without any fabric softener. The company's big thing was cleaning without chemicals and it really does work. Hope this helps!

Good luck,
C.

My son had reflux when he was a baby and we cleaned up alot of spit up! I just used resolve. It is pretty cheap and you just follow the directions on back of the can. Good luck!
